....but is not law enforcement/military?

Seems a bit overkill for a civilian to have and if I bought one I'd probably never put it on outside of the home

but I have severe /k/ related autism so naturally i want one just for the sake of owning one and the novelty of it all you know

>puts on tinfoil hat
strangely enough i feel as if id be put on a government watchlist of sorts for buying one out of the blue
>>
Well... I own an M1 that I wear watching war movies. Does that count?
>>
>>33864687

one of these saved my life in Afghanistan, so i thought to myself why not get one of these for civilian life?

I feel like with what's going on lately in the U.S. a plate carrier and helmet are a must have.

Well if civilians buy vest to protect their vital organs, I dont see any difference with them buying helmets to protect their head

Yeah, I remember seeing Armor and Plate Carriers under their "restricted weapon paraphernalia" list.

I wonder if a big shooting happened where the perp bought armor related shit from Amazon, because sites like Ebay sell helmets like the one you're talking about, with no problem.

The funny thing is, I can already see two Condor plate carrier models for sale when I search for "plate carriers", despite the restrictions. It's Condor though, so they probably just mistook it for a toy airshit vest for cosplayers, like pic related

Your already on a government watch list if you have a birth certificate drivers liscence high school diploma, pay your taxes...buy anything earn money, registered to vote or....heres the big one...OWN A GUN, even in red gun friendly states, you are still on a list and the cops know you have firearms in the house if they look ip your address...so

ballistic protection is a novelty and a better investment of money is cans of chili mac and boxes of french toast crunch, powdered milk, and gallons of fresh water

if you have money left over then you buy premium vodka, cigarettes, and one of those little solar pads to charge your phone so you can listen to music as the power grid is down and unable to be fixed for months on end

There are crazier people than you and not to mention that civil wars happen all over the world, just not in the United States as much. But regardless, it's a possibility with gangs, ethical conflicts, and short sighted politicians. Such a thing might happen and usually the two different opposing US governments would start drafting people, of course both sides would be near mirrors of each other such as the American Civil War, while you will get drafted, at least you'd have some form of protection that the government might not even supply people with. If gangs start running rampant to the extent that cops can't stop them like in Detroit or like El Salvador, you might need to defend yourself or just leave the area. Or maybe just a bunch of immigrants will rebel and cause a bunch of problems. Who knows? It could be a natural disaster like Yellow stone.

I mean it could happen, it's like that it might at least once in the next 100 years, but I wouldn't stress it too much.

Yeah, I do. Several infact, ranging from old steel pots to modern kevlars.

It's no different from having a body armor (which I also got a handful): a day without needing one is a happy one, but it'd suck to need one and not have it. Plus, I'd say covering your noggin from ballistic threats and blunt trauma is even more important.

That being said, being in the reserves + living right next to a nut-case super power gives more than good enough excuses to have such pieces around.

NorseGear is the old Equipnorshop/Equipnor, who orders most of the stuff to the Norwegian Military, like helmets, carriers, plates, etc. But they sell most of the stuff commercially as well. They're also releasing a new (GoreTex?)uniform soon, theyve been teasing it on their facebook site, and pvnor(TMBN) has been teasing it as well.
