Hey all, I'm in the market to buy my first Sig pistol. I already own an HK, Glock, and CZ and I would like to add a Sig to my collection. The issue is, I am not sure exactly what pistol to buy.
Currently I really like the look of the P225-A1
>pic related
however, I have also been looking at the M11-A1 which is a variant of the P229. I am open to any advice, or experience you guys can share in what I should get.

I had a P320 fullsize and P226. I thought the P226 was incredibly overrated. I put about 1000 rounds through it in competition and never saw what was so 'special about it'. The P320 was nice and I really liked it. My biggest complaint was I always held down the Slide stop, but apparently the new models have a little fence around the button so it's harder to do by accident. The P320 is the current hot item so it's probably not a bad place to start.

I should have stated this in the original post, but I am not interested in the striker fired Sigs (plus all the hype areound the Army's new sidearm). Pretty much every handgun I own except the CZ is striker fired and one of the things I am looking for is a hammer fired pistol.
>>33862940
Go with the P239. It's like the 225 but you can use 9rd magazines instead of 8.
>>33863016
I haven't had a chance to play with the 239 but I believe they have one at my lgs. I'll go fingerfuck it next time I am there. Thanks
>>33862940
I've owned quite a few Sigs, a P238, P938, P226, P227, P320, M11-A1 and P229. In my opinion the P229 is the best all around choice. It's easily concealable for someone my size and is a great comfy gun to shoot. My particular model is a 9mm Legion DA/SA. Definitely my favorite handgun I've ever owned.
>>33863068
good to know. I do like the 229 and I shot the 226, 229, and 225. Only reason I was kind of circling back to the 225 is the retro wood grips. while the 229 is a touch larger for my body size, I think I can get away with carrying it without printing
>>33863043
It's perfect
>>33863093
I'm 5'11'' and 165 lbs and it's a good fit for me. I like the wood grips too on the 225, but I like double stack as much as possible.
>>33863280
the double stack is a good point.
I liked the M11-A1s I've messed around with. The UID label is cool. The SIG laser engraved marking on top of the slide not so much.
Any word on when the new P210s are coming though?
>>33862940
I think the 226 is cool but a bit overrated. The M11 would be more my speed due to carry reasons
>>33862940
go for used german production
>>33864070
>>33864083
p228 soon
>>33862940
I'd get one of their X series personally.
>>33862940
M11 is pretty great
If you do get a P226, dont get a Legion
They dont seem to be any better than the regular ones and there are so many being resold
>>33864099
Any reason why the X series in particular?
>>33864116
I looked at the Legion but its doesn't seem quite for the roughly 350 extra bucks. Didn't know a lot of people were dumping them though
>>33863470
>gaudy shell of what was once a beautiful pistol
its like they gave helen of troy a full silicone ass tits and lip job, then a lil wayne grill on top of it
ew
>>33863470
That's one ugly ass gun
Old P225's are way better than the new ones anon.
>>33862940
>Currently I really like the look of the P225-A1
I know this feel. Was going to buy another striker fired handgun but I want a sa/da. Was looking to get a P6 surplus if I can't find a deal on a 225. Good luck, anon.
>>33864756
Do the p6 mang.
>>33864751
>>33864768
>Do the p6 mang.
That's where I'm leaning. Do you know if they take the older 225 magazines? I'm looking right now on Armslist for some W. German SIGs including a P6. mirin' yours though.
>>33864756
sucks for you, Sportsmanoutdoor just had a sale of a bunch of 9mm DA/SA sigs that included the P225.
>>33864791
They do use older P225 magazines. The new P225a1 mags are a P239 derivative though, and are not backwards compatible.
>>33864226
>Any reason why the X series in particular?
Because they're cool as fuck
>>33864794
>Sportsmanoutdoor just had a sale of a bunch of 9mm DA/SA sigs that included the P225
>mfw
Fuck...
>>33864799
>They do use older P225 magazines.
Thanks, P6anon, I thought that was the case.
>>33864812
Yep no problem.
I have three of them and about a dozen or so magazines. They are very nice guns.
>>33864826
Tbh I really like the look of the older P225's over the P6 but feel the P6 are more easily available to find. If you had to choose would you get a P225 or P6? iirc the P6 had some feed ramp issues or something
>>33864768
P6 anon, I'm catching up to you with my sig collection now!
Where did you have that one refinished (did you mail it away) and what kind of finish is that?
>>33862940
It seems like you like the 225 in your pic the best and functionally you would want a double stack so why not just get a 228/M11-A1 with wood grips.
>pic related, 228
>>33864970
That's not a bad idea at all. Thanks
>>33864867
I would find an early 90's VA marked P225 if I could have any model.
To be fair, my P6 feeds hollow points just fine after a minor chamber polish.
>>33864934
Its Tungsten Cerakote, and I refinished it my self back in my poorfag days :)
Honestly the best modification I made to that gun was the Trijicon's.
>>33864339
>>33864746
What specifically is so ugly? Just the finish or the Americanized controls?
>>33863016
For a 5'7" manlet weighing 160, do you think a 239 would be hard to conceal?
>>33863068
How was the 238? I'm currently stuck between the 238 and 239 for first ccw.
I'd compare with 938, but California sucks
>>33862940
Get a CZ99. Just as good and way cheaper.
bampin
>>33868383
Well not really I mean size wise it's not small buts it's comfy. It's a little skinnier than a Glock 19 with about 1" shorter OAL. It's pretty much between the Glock 26 and 19 in size.
If I was in CA or NY and wanted a 9mm to carry the p239 would IMO be your least compromised option
>>33868383
Personally I find the 239 utterly hideous. Move out of commiefornia and get a 938 brah
>>33869783
>p239
>hideous
Say that to my face fucker not online and see what happens
Not OP, but a question for you Sig guys. Is there an appreciable difference between the DA triggers on the different models of hammer-fired Sigs, and which model/variant out there has the best factory trigger?
I had a chance to try out a friend's post-unification but pre-Exeter Sig P220 the other day, and I cannot say that the DA trigger on it impressed me even if the gun itself was sweet.
P239 Makes more sense I suppose, but the P225 is more aesthetic.
I don't know, I don't regret selling my P239 at all though. Go with the P225 but don't expect it to be the greatest carry gun.

So many of these sigs look so good. So what's the major differences with the 225 and 239? And the 228 for that matter
