Looks okay to me, but I cut a big box on mine that will fix 10 mags side to side. You don't need foam between the mags, and you want 1-2" (preferablly 2) of foam around the edges.

Also, I used an old electric turkey knife. Hold it perfectly vertical and don't rush.
Cut a little inside the lines, it's easier to remove a little material for a tight fit then buy a new foam because you cut too big

yeah it's a pelican storm. There's a second layer below that that's about half as thick and knotched for the wheels, and then a top layer with the eggshell texture for the lid. I'm gonna grab some velcro for the lid so I can leave documents behind it (laminated tax stamps, maybe some targets). Might cut the bottom layer for my other rifle.

I'm honestly talking out my ass, but IMO you should orient the pelican to fit as many firearms as you can, and maybe 1 mag per firearm as fits. To me it makes more sense for some reason to have mags and ammo in another container. The pelican preserves the essential expensive components.
