Does America have an addiction to air power?

Air superiority means an unlimited ability to simply bomb your enemy out of existence. This means that, no matter how much your enemy invests in defense (for example, building a gun bunker on every street corner) you can still easily destroy them without massive causalities.
The only exception is with submarines, because they hide underwater. But America has an addiction to them as well.

no its not aircraft are by far the best way to deal with subs

Someone, somewhere in the pentagon, just got the idea for aircraft submarines.

Also, consider that at any given time America has over 200 bombers and 2,000 airliners just sitting around mothballed available for military service. Each one is capable of taking off from the US and flying to it's target destination on one fuel tank, return trips made possible via tankers. As a result, assuming air superiority the US could simply destroy any other country on earth would a single infantryman.

The USA has a brilliant geographical location in terms of national security. Any potential enemy is at least an ocean away, since both of its neighbours have neither the will or the means to attack the USA.
On the other hand, this means that the USA has to transport everything a long way to go to war. It's much easier for the USA to spend heavily on the USN and USAF, to be able to protect its interests and quickly back up its friends & allies.
