Just put on layaway the KEKifornia version.
I heard the Fal was better but I hope I made a good choice. Any input on these rifles friends? did I fuck up my life?

What the fuck separates an Atlantic arms Ptr from another G3? Is it a refurb? Old receiver with new furniture? That seems to be a bit of a gamble. I love a G3 but am cautious of getting one
>>
>>33851039
Its an american made clone, it got some updates last year seen good reviews for it. Just the factory 10-12lb trigger is shit. A Bill Springfield trigger job will set it to 4.75lbs for 69 buckarooos.
>>
>>33851147
Oh well that's actually fucking sweet then. What's the worry? Your daily reminder : civil wars will be fought with battle rifles and bolt actions >.300 with longer distances
>>
>>33851147
How much is it
>>
>>33851210
about 800-900 I think there's different models
>>
>>33851210
Price: $1139
Sale: $1,099.00
>>
>>33851239
Thats for the model in OP
>>
>>33851239
>>33851253
Is that the 'base' model?
>>
>>33851505
no, the G.I. basic bitch is 889
>>
>>33851505
No, the base model is $800 and has a fixed iron sight with no rails and a thin handguard.

>>33850976
Is that a finger mag release along with the paddle mag release or is that part of the commification process?
>>
>>33851594
>>33851572
Cool thanks for info. G3s are fucking sick. I have a Daniel defense but I love battle rifles
>>
>>33851594
Any idea where I can find a wide handguard on the cheap? They seem scarce these days.
>>
>>33851594
believe its just part of the modification they did to add a paddle release.
only thing calicuck about it is the gripwrap and 10rd mag.

Mine is very accurate. Get some good glass with a low weight mount, an extended and rubberized charging handle, and a nice muzzle brake and you will have an excellent DMR.
>>
>>33850976
Lot of money for a 5 moa, 15lb ar10
>>
>>33851995
The paddle mag release is a quality of life modification done by PTR. The original G3 design had the finger release. The gun was originally designed around the 5.56 I believe, the finger release worked with that configuration; but after scaling the entire rifle up to chamber the 7.62 NATO most people have trouble using the finger release.

I don't understand.

Even people who hate PTRs know this isn't true.
>>
>>33851620
we all do bro. PTR is a national treasure
>>
I skipped buying a PTR and just got a Scar 17 instead.
>>
>>33852210
don't they actually have pretty good MOA?

best ak variant rolling through

ptr 32 i want one so bad
>>
>>33852241
Between 1.5 and 3 MOA. I can't get more than 3 with Wal-Mart Tulammo and a hot barrel on my FR
>>
>>33852263

what did he mean by this?
>>
>>33852263

Wat. Shoo nogunz
>>
>>33852241

From what I've heard from owners, they usually shoot about 2. Which is completely typical of a 20th century battle rifle. FAL's usually got 3, IIRC.
>>
>>33852169
They both still work though, you can use whichever one you like? Or did they just leave the finger button attached to fill the hole?
>>
>>33852439
Yes they both still work. But even with large hands it's very difficult to manipulate the finger release without removing your hand from the grip.
>>
>>33852278
>>33852283
I tried going off on the fact that it uses ak mags

or am I wrong
>>
>>33852711
It's based off the HK roller locker design. The forward charging handle is a dead give away.

>>
>>33851239
>sale
They're always on sale you mong. Slickguns lets you compare firearm model prices; the Atlantic "sale" on these things is always market rate.
>>
>>33852181
$1k is literally the basic rate for EVERY 308 battle rifle. Only way it gets cheaper is with parts kits or shoddy knock-offs. Basic AR-10s are about the same price.
>>
>>33852819
You could get a butchered MAS 49 .308 conversion for less than $500.
>>
>>33852259
Or you could just enjoy ONE rifle instead of 5 ARs, 3 SKSs, and half a dozen Mosin-Nagants that only see range day once a year.
>>
>>33850976

They're roughly equivalent rifles, honestly.

You did good OP. Sorry you had to get the cucked version.

>>33852132
I find it to be a lot more fun to shoot than an AR. That's just my opinion though.

>>33852711
The mags are the only thing the same m8.

>>33852863
Piston rifles can be fun too.
>>
>>33852169
You're fucking retarded. G3s had paddle releases and the initial civilian imports did too until the ATF decided that the way the paddle release was installed made it easy to convert to full auto for some dumb reason. That's why HK91s didn't have the paddle and PTRs didn't until recently since they figured out a workaround.
>>
>>33852885
>>33852930
Yep, disregard that post I suck cocks. I'm off to read up on the design history.

I got one they are fun as fuck, but pricey

You don't. You are very late to the party and all the milsurp has dried up. I got mine for $15 10 years ago, also got a full wood furniture kit for under $30.
