Sweet, I was just going to find the QTDDTOT thread, but this will work.
About how much black powder should I put in this here antique .36 calibre boot pistol I just bought?
I once heard the rule of thumb was calibre=grains, but 30 grains of FFFG seems a bit much, but I don't really know.
I just picked up an old tower flintlock for $125, something like. 69 caliber.
It all seems to work fine, except that the frizzen is soft as hell. Any solutions asides from brazing on a new sole guys?

You can always buy one for 100 USD and restore it

What pressures do BP rifles/shotguns go to? Are there any places I can find this information? I'm curious about building my own musket out of high pressure water pipe, and I want to know the pressures BP guns reach to see if its feasable. Dont worry about safety, I'll put a sheet steel guard on the gun just in case (or maybe embed it in an epoxy, fiberglass, or magnesium at the chamber)

>>33831294
Where the fuck do you even get ammo for that thing?
also
>tfw no veterlli shooting operator gf
>>33831361
You make it from 8mm lebel casings
>>33831611
neat, might have to try that
>tfw now I have an excuse to buy a Veterlli
>>33831821
they're pretty easy to convert, the ammo is a different story. you'll probably end up paying more then the guns worth to reload 50 rounds for it. I'll probably make a video on reloading black powder cartridges and making brass for it.
>>33831611
Damn, that really makes me want a black powder cartridge rifle.
Where can you get black powder (the real stuff, i.e. goex or Swiss, not substitutes) in California? It seems like nobody carries it anywhere within 250 miles of the bay area.
Lancaster howdah pistol.
Old school British Raj big game backup pistol.
>>33829874
So are hawking rifles pretty much the best option as a "babies first flintlock?"
Not a big fan of the short stock aesthetic but they seem like decent rifles for the price.
>Even black powder is banned in Australia
JUST KEK MY SHIT UP
>>33833229
Yeah. Although Pedersoli does make a "blue ridge" rifle in both flint and percussion for $600. It's on sale a lot at Cabela's.
>>33833239
kek, even in this post-commie place I can get a BP revolver mailed to my doorstep
>>33833239
You can make your own black powder with 100$ worth of equipment.
If you can't get a hold of percussion caps,I suggest you get those cheap electric firework lighters on ebay and build an electric gun.

>>33834412
Was mainly getting confused by all the stuff I would've needed to get on the side aside from the Rifle such as Patches, lube, etc.
Then if I reloaded my own what all I would need . Feel free to chime in as It'll probably be a purchase down the road maybe a year or so from now.
