What does /k/ think about CC insurance?

I have no idea how I subscribed to this email list, but been getting emails for a while from the USCCA (United States Concealed Carry Association).

It is insurance in case you have to use your conceal carry, or really any case of self-defense.

Was just wondering if any other anons thought that might be a good idea? Also would love to hear from any who are members with USCCA.

What reminded me to start this thread is that they keep bitching about the NRA booting them from their show, I'd be curious if there was a legitimate reason, and what that is?

Also, if there are any other similar companies that offer carry insurance?

the long story short is no one knows how good any of these cc insurance companies are, because no one has had to use them. You are most likely better off finding a good lawyer in your state and writing down their number, honestly.

>NRA booting them from their show, I'd be curious if there was a legitimate reason, and what that is?
My guess would be that the NRA now sells their own CC insurance, so they kicked out the competition.

Here's what it boils down to:
If you honestly believe there is any chance what-so-ever that you could be involved in a defensive shooting, you should get conceal carry insurance.

I live in Chicago, therefore I have CC insurance. When I did my research a year ago CCW Safe seemed to be the best deal, so I went with them. Many others have popped up recently. If you do your own research I'd be interested in seeing what you find.

That kind of insurance only encourages people to sue. If you buy it, you're helping undermine the right to self defense.

Went to a Tom Givens class a month ago and he briefly mentioned ACLDN as being the best option. He, Massad Ayoob, John Farnam are some of the advisors of the organization.

Really fuzzy on this but he said something about other legal defense insurance companies backing out from financially compensating you if you are found not guilty or something to that effect. One of his students iirc back in 2015 or 2016 early into the year was involved in a defensive shooting where they were justified in shooting and was out in less than an hour after talking to his lawyer connected with ACLDN.

Tom Givens is also considered an expert witness that has been in dozens of cases. Really good instructor to attend a class with by the way. I should really get around to signing up for self defense insurance now that I saw this thread.

ACLDN is the best org...Mas, Marty....great guys. Both excellent on the stand.
>>
the other outfits are merely selling insurance...ACLDN is offering experience and a degree of training...

They send you a ton of DVD's with your membership that are excellent mini classes on dealing with use of force incidents..

If you've got the cash, get ACLDN and one of the better CCW insurance outfits to supplement..

this is stupid. you don't get this to pay for claims against you, it's to pay defense attorney costs.

>It is insurance in case you have to use your conceal carry, or really any case of self-defense.
I've done CC classes in Illinois and Arizona.

In Illinois a lawyer was also in the class and he said there's a lot of holes in their policy so it's not really going to help you.

In Arizona, the presenter was a lawyer specializing in firearms and defense and he said much the same - it's not useful.

Reasoning behind both of their negative views is the fine print that says they can pick and choose if they view YOUR circumstances as being 'legal' or if they are more Zimmerman-grey-area and can simply choose not to defend you. They're essentially saying they'll defend you if it's a sure thing you will win. Else, they wont.

... and if it's a sure thing you'll win, why do you need their help?
