Ukrainian army T-64BV's coming to Strong Europe tank challenge in Germany. Slightly upgraded BV's with thermal sights. Against Leo's and Abrams
How do you guys think T-64 will compare to western MBT's in competition? My guess is that T-64 might win in maneuvers and speed challenges, not so sure about fire and accuracy. T-64 has actual fire control system compared to T-72 though.

T-64 looks so badass, holy shit

Do they do actual tests of the tank by firing at it?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the most agile of the lot, but while it might have been state of the art for decades, it holds that title no longer. What kind of fire control/optics does it have?

Why not bring T-80?
>>33825665
huh weird, on the front page they don't mention that romania is coming too, but in the article when it starts they do.
>romania uses tanks based on t-55

maybe they don't have enough spare combat ready t80s since the split and want to have them rather guard the "border"? thats my best guess

If we inviting non-NATO militaries, why not invite Russia?

You could also ask why we not inviting ISIS to participate. They have tanks too.

Most experienced tank crews in Ukrainian army are tankers from 14th mechanized brigade, they won Ukrainian competitions last year and they have T-64BV, heading to Germany now.
T-80's are in VDV/airborne troops and there are no such experienced crews for those.

>T-80's are in VDV/airborne troops
What the point of giving equipment impossible to airdrop to airborne troops?
