How are my fellow /k/omrades holding up? Just had a mass likely hate crime in San Diego. The panic buying is going to restart now, isn't it?
>>
That's why I've been buying an average of two guns a month since last fall. Currently at four rifles, two handguns, and a shotgun. Once I get my Mini-14 next month, I'll have all the guns that I think are in any danger of getting the banhammer anytime soon.
>>
>>33820739
Same, hoping to get a mini 14 ASAP.

Don't know if preemptive panic buying will do any good considering what they did to previously grandfathered hi cap mags.
>>
>>33820703
What happened now?

What can they even restrict at this point? Ammo requires a background check, handguns can only be bought from a government approved list, rifles are cucked beyond belief and carrying concealed or open is laughably impossible.

What's next, banning tritium sights?
>>
>>33820747
>Don't know if preemptive panic buying will do any good considering what they did to previously grandfathered hi cap mags.
You know, I've been thinking of taking up boating. It sure would be a shame to have a tragic boating accident that resulted in the loss of my Mini-14.

Given that the purpose of these laws is and always will be simply to spite the gun owner, the possibilities really are endless. Mental health checks, forfeiture of 4th amendment rights for all gun owners (already basically in place), mandatory swift kick in the nuts to fill out a 4473, sky's the limit.

>literally antigun subhuman trash put so little political effort individually and still get the better outcomes
Yes, that's how democracy works, and why it sucks. The bottom line is, it's a numbers game, plain and simple. Ten ignorant, low-effort morons who want gibsmedat outweigh nine educated, civically-engaged, thoughtful citizens who want ordered liberty. Logic, reason, decency, respect for rights, knowledge of history, understanding of the issues involved - none of this matters one tiny little bit. The only thing that matters is 51%. Doesn't matter who. Doesn't matter how. It just matters that a bulk of parasites and idiots find their way into a voting booth to vote for more free money. Plato told us 2500 years ago that this always ends badly; he hasn't been wrong yet, and he won't be this time either. Don't think so? Just wait.

Sorry to disillusion you.

Oddly enough, yes. The state doesn't have reciprocity with any other states, but afaik a CCW issued anywhere in the state is valid everywhere in the state.

I wonder how long before they catch on...

Allow me to correct the record...

>Ammo requires a background check
not until 2018, so stock up or buy out of state now and there is a lawsuit by the CRAP and NRA trying to stop this

>handguns can only be bought from a government approved list
only new handguns not used

>rifles are cucked beyond belief
no argument there it's mass retardation but this is also hopefully on its way out due to a new lawsuit

>carrying concealed or open is laughably impossible
most counties in CA are basically shall issue, I'm a sacfag that has renewed my ccw a few times and i have no political connections.

open carry is illegal unless you are in a county of under 200,000 and the sheriff gives you a special permit only good in that county
>>
>>33824313
Seriously?
So, BG checks mean BG check fees per transaction(unless it's free?).
Thus, it only makes sense to buy large amounts of ammo, in order to minimize the fees.

The program described by legislation is you have to get a background check every couple years. When you pass it you get a card that you show when purchasing (not more than 100 rounds at a time) your ammo. Your purchases are also all recorded. A valid CCW exempts you from the program.

>>
>>33823282
HEY I lived near there but I live in New Mexico now.

What happened?
>>
>>33826546
Nothing. But the program does two things. It will alert CADOJ if someone is buying "too many" rounds and it will cause stores not wanting to lose their ability to sell firearms in CA to self regulate and exercise their "right to refuse service". Either way it will be a cluster.

By ammo now and buy in bulk. Hold off on that new gun for a bit and buy ammo instead.

Let's be honest, dude.

They're not going to get any better. Have you looked at the demographics of California, and where the population is concentrated? You're outnumbered 5 to 1.

And no sane gun owner is going to move to California with the laws already in place, and the sky high cost of living.

Supreme Court justices generally only leave their jobs one way: feet-first. I remember hearing stories from reporters who were around in the late 80s/early 90s that toward the end, Thurgood Marshall had a tendency to not only piss his pants at official functions, but to not even notice because he was so senile. And he was still ruling on the meaning of the Constitution. Great system, huh?
>>

But then De Leon will take the initiative! Then again, both of them are Liberal fucktards who shouldn't even run for Governor.
>>
>>33832291
Ugh, this makes me really hope we get another republican in 4 years, even if it isn't Trump.

I want this shit locked down. It doesn't even matter if the current court doesn't rule on the AWB or high cap lawsuits since they can take it up later when we secure the majority.

I want that 7-2 court son, imagine ALL the gun laws getting nullified in a complete federal sweep and the tens if not hundreds of millions of new scary black rifles with now legal full auto, suppressors, and surplus grenade launchers being proliferated along with lots of new kinds of small arms and even tactical tier weapons like a lot more fully armed tanks and ordnance hitting the civilian market.

Basically have gun-crazy americans take advantage of the gap we make and buy ALL the weapons so gun control ends for good.

I wouldn't count on it. Rich/famous/powerful people live unnaturally long because of medical science that isn't made known to the public. Besides, American politics tend to swing back and forth but always keep a balance in the long run. I would be very surprised if Trump was able to appoint another justice even if he served a full 8 years. Keep in mind it only takes 51 votes now, in 2018 the senate is likely to go dem majority. Either way don't count on the SCOTUS shifting greatly in either direction.

>I'm pretty new but I always assumed NJ and Cali were pretty close. Can I have a quick rundown on why NJ's are worse?
You don't have to beg a judge to give you permission in writing to buy a gun. The selection here is much better (and that's really saying something). CCW is hard to get, but handguns aren't hard at all to buy. Outside urban centers, precisely nobody cares about gun laws. Inside urban centers, almost nobody cares about gun laws (my local range in the Bay Area is used by two local police departments for their own practice; people fire noncompliant rifles there all the time and nobody ever says anything). Our knife laws are actually not too bad at all - you can open carry nearly anything, and concealed carry any folder of any size and any type other than full automatic switchblades.
>>
>>33825882
>only new handguns not used

So what's a decent rifle to get here anyway? What are my options for under $500? What are my options for $800 or under? Would be nice to get something with ammo that's not too expensive, and I don't really like cuck-stock ARs.
>>
>>33832577
For $800-ish, a Mini-14. For $500-ish, a fixed-magazine SKS.
>>
>>33832414

no balisongs too. and you can have an auto, it just has to be CA-made and <2". which means there's a market for 1.99" CA-made autos.
>>
>>33832577
>California

Nothing, you'll either have to look real hard and patient at used listings or whine and bitch into dropping $1000 for an M1A.

Then you need to stock the fuck up on ammo because the ammo bill will require more fees and certification in order to purchase, which means more $$$.

Or you can go featureless with an AR.

Or you can move.

if you have handguns as long as you have 10 rd mags for them and register them within 60 days of establishing residence then you can bring them along. other guns can be adapted unless out right banned.

I own a steyr m9 and a ruger ar556. But I dont see the point of an ar with only 10 rds lol

in fact i'd suggest getting as many off-register handguns as practical so you can sell them at markup. P320s, VP9s, PPQs, Gen 4 Glocks, etc. just don't have a threaded barrel for your pistol, the Walther P22 had to be recalled because the barrel weight was non-permanently threaded on.

I can only tell you about the SF South Bay. Note that there may be a few more ranges around the area, these are just the ones I've been to.

Reeds Indoor Range: As it sounds, indoor range handgun/shotguns/pistol caliber rifles allowed

www.reedsindoorrange.com/
1100 Duane Ave, Santa Clara, CA 95054

Targetmasters: another indoor range. Bit of a shitshow there, and I'd personally avoid it

www.targetmasterswest.com/
TargetMasters West, 122 Minnis Cir, Milpitas, CA 95035

Los Altos Rod and Gun: In the Santa Cruz mountains. pistol (7, 10, 15 and 25 yards), rifle (50y and 100 yards), tin can range (40 yards), 8 manual trap. Nice place, will yell at you if you drive faster than 3mph in the parking lot (very small). The manual traps overlook a cliff side so you get a pretty nice view of the valley below.

www.losaltosrodandgunclub.com/
LOS ALTOS ROD AND GUN CLUB, 14750 SKYLINE BOULEVARD, LOS GATOS, CA 95033

Metcalf (Santa Clara sports and field park): Pistol/Rifle/Trap & Skeet. They have a 200 yd range there.

https://www.sccgov.org/sites/parks/parkfinder/Pages/Field-Sports-Park.aspx
Field Sports Park, 9580 Malech Rd, San Jose, CA 95013
