What do you want to know? They're neat little blowback guns with dick grips. For whatever reason I shoot my mak better than my CZ82.

I feel bad; mine is a basically unissued Bulgarian mak and it's gorgeous. I cc it every day with an aftermarket grip and the finish is starting to wear.
It isn't nearly as pretty as it should be

they used to be a really cheap and acceptable surplus gun that was small enough for conceal carry.

now single stack 9x19mm subcompacts/compacts are cheaper

They are very reliable and very easy to maintain/clean. I paid $300 for an unissued bulgy a year ago from a gun store, $250-300 seems to be the going rate for them depending on condition. Pic related, my mak.

A good surplus pistol for people who are a fan of that sort of thing.

If you want a pistol for CC or general use, then I'd advise saving another $200 and getting something much much better, as pistol technology has improved greatly these past 50 years.

Great little guns. I got mine in the 90's and carried it for years. They're heavy and low-capacity by modern CCW standards, but a lot of fun to shoot. My local Cabela's has a couple of ammo options, including hollow-points. Extremely accurate once you get used to the tiny sights. Also, dick grips.

I love my CZ 82 and P64, but they're just getting me by until I can get a more modern handgun for self defense. They'll do the job I'm sure, but would not be my first choice. All make designs tend to have low capacity compared to other pistols their size and if you want to fire proper self defense ammo you need the steel weapons (p64, CZ 82, Mak) which means heavier.

That said, it's a decent round, they're fun to shoot, they have good history, etc.

Only problem is finding ammo. If you're in a remotely fudd type of area you're gonna have to order it online.

P64 owner here, got mine for $250 with 3 mags, original holster, bubba'd OWB holster, and wolf springs installed.

I absolutely do not regret buying it at that price, but I wouldn't pay much more than that, especially without the wolf springs. Even with the wolf springs DA is just god awful. You pretty much have to jerk it, there is no smooth take up. I've heard it's about a 17lb pull WITH the springs. It also has this bizarre two stage reset on DA.

That said, with springs the SA is sex, not even 2lbs from the feel. It's also very accurate for such a small pistol. I've heard the crazy Poles sighted these things in at 50m. No idea if it's true but wouldn't surprise me.

I bought it mainly for the collection, but it'll probably end up being my pocket carry for a while since I'm familiar with it and it never malfunctions. It's not a great choice (6+1, heel release, no manual slide release) but it's better than nothing.

If you want the pinnacle in 9x18, you want a CZ 82. They're really nice. I use mine as my car gun. Good capacity, polygonal rifling, 1911 cock n lock style safety, almost 100% ambidextrous, and glorious czechnology. Just beware the "mfg CZ" mags, they're chink knockoffs.
