If you don't connect it to power and hand crank it instead doesn't it not count as full auto? Maybe you can even get away with the delinking/feed system being electrically assisted without being classified as automatic. I highly doubt it. This gun has existed for decades and no one has adopted it.

With existing technology you could make a partial exoskeleton that would let you fire it with one hand and carry about 2000 rounds. Would it have any use?

I'm enormously appreciative of these guys designing a fucking portable minigun, but the American 180 would just be cheaper to shoot by its very nature.

D-Day showed that a gun with a high rate of fire is not good enough to hold back human wave attacks. What we need is low firerates. 600 rounds per minute at most, but 460 to 520 RPM is ideal.

I've always thought something like that would be more ideal. A high enough rate of fire to put some lead downrange, but not so high that you burn through all your ammunition in half the time it takes your enemy to do the same.
