Soviet heavy tanks could probably do the job(KV and IS models) with good disabling shots and high mobility.

A direct hit from any soviet heavy tank would be enough to take out a tread, leaving it dead in the water for follow up shots.

Something big like a KV-2 could probably manage to do some serious damage with placement just about anywhere.

But that is some serious snowflake on snowflake action that would never actually happen.

The real answer is air support or an artillery placement getting its location from recon troops.

Yep.

Literally anything with a working engine. USA, Soviets, and Brits all would have just stayed out of its range and waited for it to break down or bog down (because even if you get it working fairly well, something that big is just going to be a mechanical nightmare to drive) Bypassing it would be laughably easy, and air support/artillery/infantry would have all been pretty scary for a tank like this to fight. Remember, the Elefant (before it got it's MG) had a crazy amount of armor and a bigass gun too, and it was pretty much a death trap for the crew when infantry got close.

Winning a war isn't about just having the biggest, baddest tank. Remember that the Germans wiped the floor with the Soviets in 1941 when the KV1 was a legitimate hell to face, with most of the German weapons almost completely incapable of penetrating its armor at all but suicidal short range. They'd either hit it with arty or air support, take it out with infantry, or just waited it to break down.

Realistically though in a theoretical 1v1 engagement (because that almost never happens in real life) Most modern tanks of the time could've easily outmaneuvered it and taken it out from the side. Comet, Pershing, T34/85, IS 2, Challenger, hell probably even M10's, M36's, Hellcats, and 76mm armed shermans could all have probably taken this monstrosity out. Hit it with a few smoke shells, close to close range, get into the side arc because that things turret would've been slow as hell to traverse, and GG.

USA M1 ambram tank might be able to take on maus 1:1 because it have very good aror of depleted urieniun beehive aror that might not get damage by 128mm

The Maus like all other porsche's designs was an overly elaborate unreliable / unpractical turd that's only praised b/c of Kraut space magic spouting wehraboos.

People give shit for the T28 about this, but at least you can take off the sides to get access, the maus the fucking side armor is one piece solid wit no possible way to get to the tracks/ wheels... oh and like the T28 the maus had two sets of suspension trucks per side so good luck getting to a fucking wheel

Fucking Porsche was gay about this system since the 30's. It failed in the Tiger I prototype, King tiger Prototype and would have undoubtedly failed in the maus. T28 Used the GAF from the M26, and although way under powered was way more reliable then gas electric hybrid system on the porsche. If the T28 would have went through further development it would have had the power pack of the M46 fitted giving it more horse power.

God Fucking dammit I hate these fucking tank games, the T28 was NEVER a TD, was developed to KO heavy fortified bunkers with direct fire, chances are good that these two vehicles would never had engaged each other and would have been more or less The Maus vs the T29, T30, T34 series of heavy tanks.

Is2, is3, t44, centurion, perishing all come to mind. Or do they not count because arbitrary reasons?
