Serious question: why do people buy UTG rail covers?
It's not like rail covers from respectable brands are dramatically more expensive.

This is not the new C308, this is the older Cetme's Century built. For this price, you could buy the C308 new in box. The older Cetme's are not worth this price at all.

I think you should just buy the PTR, especially one with the wide handguard and paddle release. The later C308's built had a massive quality drop which led to atlantic firearms to stop selling them.

I'm just trying to warn you because I had one of the original CETME's that was a piece of a hard charging piece of crap, and I have the C308 and a PTR and the quality of those are infinitely greater than the original CETME's. At least if you go to see this guy talk him down to under $500 if you do.

DELET THIS

I was going to buildaFAL™ or buy a DSA Voyager. But this is cheaper than both. God I hate being left handed. It was a some cruel joke thought up by the Germans to put the charging handle way up on the front left of the gun.
>>
>>33823860
I'm left handed and charging G3's is fine. I just use my right hand underneath the rifle and charge it easily. If you haven't already, stop by a Gun store and try charging one and see how it feels.

>>
>>33820253
Depends.

What kind of use are we talking?
For a non-professional fighting force where fighting units will be no more than, say, five people and engagement distances will be a long fucking way and there's no air support, they're actually quite nice for hit and run tactics.

But in all honesty bolt actions are a little bit better for hit and run tactics at long ranges and for an urban environment carbines and SMGs tend to be superior due to being able to conceal them easier for blending in crowds to escape.

But with the right barrel lengths and fielding stocks they can be made to do well for both roles granted the aforementioned "non-professional army" box is checked.

And then there's always the "designated marksmans rifle" thing.

Also, get surplus and don't buy DSA mags.

Pic related, DSA followers and springs can be really hit or miss. I have 2 that are fine and 3 that are garbage.

If you have a nice kit then your best bet would be to find a mix-n-match'd gun with the receiver you want at a good price and then part it out. You will actually save money on the receiver this way, and frankly the chances are you won't find a receiver like the one you want that has never been barreled--not at a fair price anyway.

Ptr or ar-308?

Do you want a gun that's fun or a gun that's accurate?
>>
Why does /k/ hate DSA SA58? They seem nice enough.
>>
>>33845425
Nice enough is a pretty shitty deal for how much they charge.
>>
>LR-308 build
>have constant stovepipes
>also won't go into battery when dropping bolt from bolt release
>both problems fixed with new buffer and spring
>the shit I bought at first was out of spec

I'm not surprised.

No DPMS, everything was Aero except the buffer and spring, I bought some cheapo shit off AIM Surplus
>>

>>33845467
Oh, the barrel wasn't Aero either, Faxon
>>
>>33845473
>bought some cheapo shit
Why do people do this?
>>
>>33845481
Latent kikery, I got a buffer kit for the price Aero wanted for just the spring and buffer.
Turns out the cheap shit was an AR-15 buffer spring and a cheaply made buffer.
>>
is it worth having two ARs?? I cant decide if I want to get another one
>>
>>33845827
Most people just get multiple uppers for one AR and switch between them like golf clubs.
That way, you don't have to pay an extra ~$3-400 for a new lower assy every time and can put those savigs toward optics and shit.
PS I'm not sure you're in the right thread.

I went for the PSA gen 2 ar-308 just because I'm a lefty and the ergos for the PTR seemed shitty. How bad did I fuck up?
>>
>>33846015
You didn't. That's a perfectly fine choice, I just don't find ARs as interesting.
