Is there a muzzle device I can put on a 16" AR to make it have similar velocity to an 18" AR? Only talking about a slight muzzle energy boost so I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, but I can't seem to find a device designed to do this. Why hasn't any manufacturer thought of this? What am I misunderstanding? The military cut their m4's down to 14" because their guns were too long to clear rooms. Civilian AR's are 16" because they're wannabe m4's but the law requires them to be at least 16". The original barrel length of 20" is what most military 5.56NATO rounds are designed for.

20 might be too long for me and I'm willing to sacrifice the velocity lost for 2" less barrel, but not 4"

Hey /arg/ I just finished this and went to tune the gas block but I can't get it to cycle properly even with it wide open. Undergassed and will not lock bolt to the rear with any ammo I have.

The block is a seekins precision adjustable and rifle length tube. Buffer is a standard rifle buffer.

Only thing I can think of is that it's a side charger so the cam pin is different.

Any other ideas?
