it depends how badly you want a g36
from a pure performance standpoint a semi auto g36 conversion is not worth the price. you need to buy an sl8 (which is discontinued) track down some very expensive g36 parts or have them manufactured and then contract a gunsmith will the skill set for sl8/ucp conversions.

The SL8 is not the civilian g36, its only the US market version. The real civilian version is the HK243

I'm actually kinda of a fan of the unconverted sl8. I think it's an attractive rifle, an I much prefer the uninterrupted top rail over the weird sight carry handle thing of the g36. I like the look
