Just got a brand new 10/22. Curious to what y'all consider "must have" accessories, replacement parts, etc.
>>
Buy as many of the stock factory mags as you can get your hands on. They are the only reliable magazines.
>>
>>33809836
Bx 15 and 25s not worth the cash? LGS has the 25s on sale for 20 a piece
>>
>>33809832
a sling which means aftermarket sling swivels since ruger are cheap fucks
>>
>>33809832
I usually put a Williams or Tech-sights peep if I'm sticking with irons. After that is working the trigger group either by polishing the factory trigger yourself or getting a trigger job kit or complete drop in group.
>>
>>33809897
Any walk thru vids on polishing it? I did something similar to my 995, helped a lot
>>
>>33809832
Extended magazine release if it isn't one of the newer ones that comes with it. Auto bolt release is also a must. Some great quality of life upgrades are tech sights, a web sling, and bolt buffer.
>>
A suppressor if your not in America.
>>
>>33810110
>>33809832
also you don't have to buy an auto bolt release. you can make one with the stock release and a file. look up a how-to for that one.

general question, because i fell for it long ago, but just curious. are aftermarket bolt buffers a meme?
>>
>>33810942
I don't think the factory one will ever actually damage the bolt, but mine made a fuckload of noise to the point that I just made my own out of a nylon bolt. If you plan to suppress, I'd consider it a must to make it as quiet as possible.
>>
Quick bump
>>
>>33809851
agreed
>>33810110
I've never seen the need for it.

Since no one has mentioned it, get some nice aftermarket peep sights.
>>
>>33809832
BX trigger. get that first. Best upgrade for accuracy.
>>
>>33810942

I use the soft flexible plastic buffer.
It's a lot more pleasant sounding, but I have a suppressor on my rifle.

You fucked up. You should have waited for the take-down integrally suppressed model.
>>
>>33813160
they're like $200, I'm sure he'll need to take a 2nd mortgage to get a 2nd one
>>
>>33813160
Yeah, I'll pass. I can withstand the earsplitting roar of .22lr just fine with a set of 25 cent earplugs, thanks.
>>
Not OP but another new 10/22 owner.
Is there a way to get the bolt to lock open on empty?
>>
>>33809832
I got a set of Uncle Mike's Swing Swivels, a Nohma leather sling, a BX-25 magazine, and a Nikon P-Rimfire scope for mine.

Also, consider buying yourself a paintball pod with a locking lid. They're great for piling .22lr ammo into; they hold around 500 rounds, and you can just throw the pod into a bag and take it to the range.

Seriously, that's all you need. Anyone who says they need a trigger job on a 10/22 to make it comfy to shoot should probably just give up guns and put the money into their HRT instead.
>>
>>33813355
What about the quick bolt release
>>
>>33813493
>What about the quick bolt release
Why? A 10/22 isn't a combat rifle, it's a plinking rifle.
>>
>>33813291

>not wanting a hitman-style takedown rifle that can fit in a breifcase for wanton vermin slaughter
>>
>>33809841
>>33809836

Fuck you. The BX 25's are amazing and great. The only downside is they are a bit expensive.

Because it's a pain in the dick to operate the stock one and it's a nice /k/omfort upgrade.
>>
My family has multiple 10/22. Must haves:

Sling/swivels
Extra mags
Bullets. This thing has no recoil and is easy as hell to aim. You will fly through them.

Last but not least, the ability to say, "I know it isn't combat effective. I just like it!"

Sell it and buy a cz 452, and get yourself a nice vx-1 to put on it.
>>
>>33815075
Why not have both? Always good to have an extra gun to introduce people to shooting.

The IDF called, they said that it's a riot control rifle

My wife now feels like a bad ass! Thanks for making her even happier with her 10/22. Now I have to grab her a 1-4x scope and a bipod.
