Whats does /k/ plink with? Picked up an old Savage semiauto today in 22lr. Going to go shoot it tomorrow. Might even do small game hunting with it if the dubious at best scope holds zero well.

I have a clone of that rifle that was sold at Western Tire, it likes to burp off 2 or 3 rounds every few shots. Still haven't figured out the problem yet.
My plinker
>>33805881
nice gill gun.They're really fun.
I have a pretty nice '47 one
>>33806223
the trigger has 2 sears. the 2nd one is probably worn down.
>>33806484
forgot pic
>>33805881
also, never half-rack the bolt. It will become extremely jammed - you'll have to take the whole bolt assembly out
>>33806501
whoops

>never half-rack the bolt. It will become extremely jammed - you'll have to take the whole bolt assembly out
Didn't know that. Thanks.

I plink with
Romanian M1969 Trainer - accurate, fun to shoot, but the mag is irritating as fuck and it's effectively a single load/single shot only
CZ 455 with Mannlicher stock. Accurate. Smooth. Aesthetic as FUCK. Balances perfectly for me. Just. Hnnnnng.
Beretta M9 22lr
because pew pew pew
Walther MP5A5 22lr
pew pew pew pew pew pew pew
Good guns.
Despite this, I'm considering getting a ruger charger and putting an SB15 on it, I think this would actually make it a really fun/somewhat useful plinker. I mean, I actually think that would do a good job of balancing the Charger and make it more of an actual one handed pistol. (I have no need for a SBR)
Pic related.
I've got 17 years worth of surplus ammo collected.
It's probably more expensive to buy .22 today than it was for me to obtain all my 8mm.
But the Hakim is my favorite plinker.
>cheap
>hardly any recoil
>fun to reload (muh stripper clips)
>big ass muzzle flash
>stainless steel DI gas system
>get a hot gas facial every time the gun cycles
Savage MKII
I love shooting it and it's accurate as fuck, but it's a bit heavy. I want to get a .22 pistol of some sort but I'm kind of broke right now (well not really, but I can't be buying guns until I find a better job)

This guy knows what's up. My Hakim is probably my fav, too. I have 1 modified and 2 unmodified MG13 Magazines, and the thing looks gnarly as fuck with a 25 rounder. Gonna have to modify the other 2 before long.

Scar
Usually makes it in the back of the truck when i go to the plinking pit ; generally put about 200 rounds thru everything but the bolt action 1 - 2 a month
I picked up a CMMG .22lr conversion kit with 3 25rd mags for 165 yesterday. I plan to run it in my 10.5" AR with a suppressor. I just hope its reliable
Glock 9mm.

Plinking dont get no better.

Beautiful wood on that gal, anon. Nice pick up
>>33806928
thanks
for those that don't know, these are called "gill guns" due to the gills on the left side
they supposedly help expel crud from the receiver when the bolt blows back - apparently .22 used to have a wax coating, so it helped with that
also, the bolt stays back until you release the trigger... it's quite weird
>>33806963
furthermore, you can fire in single shot mode by pressing the bolt handle in; it then locks into the receiver. Super quiet with 22 shorts
sort of like the Walther model 1 rifle
>>33806963
I love collecting 22s, they're fun and great trade bait, unfortunately I just started a new job with the post office and I'm having trouble getting hours because I'm so new. Which stinks because I've always had a tradition of buying a gun with my first check and I had to spend it entirely on groceries and bills, I'll get back to it eventually. But thank you for posting that rifle it's revived my interest in pursing more
Shooting my J.C. Higgins model 41. Made by Sears, Roebuck and co. Been in my family since early 50s.
Just redid the stock, gonna re blu it soon.

I borrowed a Ruger American during an Appleseed shoot and could not for the life of me put groups where I pointed the rifle. I'd have beautifully tight little groups approx. 2 inches higher than where I aimed every time. Fun little gun otherwise.
This thing is an absolute blast for the plinking.
Places dime sized groups and has a better trigger than any firearm I own.
>>33807585
I love shooting airguns
I'll do some informal target shooting with this
>Beeman AR2078 in .22
Savage 64f. Looking at the Henry AR-7. My local shop has it new for $249 in black. Not that bad of a deal. Not great but not bad with the 10% off ammo so I can horde more buckets of .22lr and make people cry.
Mostly my Radom WZ-48, which is a Polish training rifle based on the Mosin-Nagant, but in .22lr
>>33806963
I think I have a store-brand knock off of this.
So much of what you described is the same.
Is does the open bolt until trigger release thing and has gills.
I want to design a modern break-action .22 revolver
like the old 999 models
would there be a market for that? People seem to like break-actions
>>33807937
they were made under a billion different names/manufacturers
Mine's made in MA by savage, but Springfield sold it. I think. Some were sold through sears. Does it have a bright sort of pine finish on the stock?
I have a hard time deciding between 10/22, fv-st, or ruger american rimfire for my suppressor host.
Could you take down a deer or boar with 22lr to the head? I hunt strictly for meat.
I operate "plink" with a 10/22
>>33808327
yup, poachers do it all the time with subsonic to not attract attention. There is debate in the hunting community about it being humane though.
>>33805881
Oddly enough, my favourite plinker is my 50cal CBA muzzleloader.
It is peaceful to use and easy to clean.
>>33805881
what gun is that
>>33807668
Bretty gud.
I'm off to shoot some targets with my aa pro sport. Also - i picked up a fwb100, should be here thursday.
What would /k/ recommend if I said I wanted a .22lr bolt action rifle to plink with?
And I don't want a single shot, I want something with a mag
Definitely a 22cal pellet rifle by shot volume, but really most of my center fire guns are plinkers too. Just depends on the day.
>>33805881
I just dropped 50% on this Ruger mark iv tactical yesterday.
I forgot my Orders to LA so o can't pickup yet. Probably gonna swing by Tuesday when they're open again to grab it.
I already ordered a TK Haloand and a HLS-1S light
I really wanted a 22/45 Lite after handling the gunsmiths personal one but he said they're stupid hard to come by. Either way, considering its lighter than my old 92FS with a can on it, ihave no complaints.
