My grandpa was one of the team leaders in the SLA shootout in 1974. He accidentally set the house on fire and was the one on the bullhorn yelling for the occupants to surrender. He was also prone and was looking into the house when a long burst of automatic fire whizzed right by his head. He ducked and nearly got a haircut. The LAPD chopper was was looking at him and actually reported an officer down because they thought he got domed. He was pinned so he didn't move for a while. The rest of the LAPD officers heard the report and got super fucking pissed off because they thought my grandpa was dead. That's basically what turned the shootout into a mad-minute (4,000rds from SLA, 5,000rds from LAPD)

He is 100% right. A buddy of mine works as a criminal defense lawyer in a city below the Mason Dixon line. He's had one defendant bust himself because he posted on facebook about a liquor store robbery he did. This was after getting out on parole. Within a few months of saying he'll stay out of the system he had an illegal gun, committed armed robbery, posted about it on social media, then tried to say he dindu nuffin until my buddy told him if he wanted to avoid getting shafted he'd need to take the plea deal. God only know what else that dumbass did when he was out on the street.

There are people that defend this kind of behavior from both Blacks and Whites, yet don't understand why cops use excessive force on occasion.
