cloths tall enough are also too fat
all furniture is at least a foot too low
cant fit in most cars let alone most tanks
long limbs makes for less torque (kinematics and shit)
for the same body weight you will be weaker than a shorter person
bigger target overall but at least your not the exact hight spec for most range finding recitals
but the flip side is your more susceptible to radiation

I wonder why they pointed out the Gurkha was 1,70m tall in the article. That's not really short, especially for an Asian. If he had been under 1,60m it would have been worth mentioning maybe. Every real life operator I ever met was in the 5'6" - 5'8" range. Includes an original Marine Raider, a Force Recon guy, a regular Marine who walked back from Chosin, and 2 Nam-era SF guys.

Smaller guys make smaller targets, require fewer calories for basal metabolism, tend to have faster twitch reflexes, and are less likely to get back/leg injuries when jumping.

I'm 6'2", 240 btw.

This man knows. 6'3" and lanky here, in all my 28 years everyone says they wish they were as tall as me, when I try to explain why they really don't they brush it off. Most of the world is built for 5'8" people.

Just recent examples:
