What's the /k/ommando opinion of this...special looking weapon?
>>33801275
Its simple, and I am kinda fed up with Ian starting to put personal opinions in the title of the video .
Archiving is his line of work, the simpler and straightforward the better.
Occasional mention of a system or bad manufacturing is needed but he is jumping on this like is the worst gun ever.
>that fucking gap between the trigger and the magazine
What did they mean by this, /k/?
>>33801313
They could not slow down the bolt in smaller more compact space.
>>33801275
Should be called the MPPS-56
>>33801311
t. yugoslav
I want one
It's unnecessarily big just like Ian said.
>>33801340
Oh yeah laugh about the need to arm masses of people as cheap as possible.
UK has done the same and yet everyone is jerking to Sten gun which was used to 1992.
>>33801311
>I am kinda fed up with Ian starting to put personal opinions in the title of the video .
Is he not allowed to have an opinion?
>>33801313
Yugos couldn't build good enough springs to slow the bolt down in a reasonable distance.
Gun looks pretty meh, but I'm not sure if I got the same level of distaste for it that
>>33801311
did from Ian.
>>33801391
>reading comprehension
Shit I though I had filtered you.
>>33801379
theoretically, how hard would it be to build a basic model sten gun?
>>33801379
Just a bit of banter m8, I actually like it even if it does look really goofy. Simple and it shoots.
>>33801402
Not an argument.
>>33801409
With basic machining tools I would imagine it would be incredible easy.
I dont see you would need some pipe and threading on few parts.
The mag is the only thing that is more complex but its not like the original gun had reliable mag to begin with.
>>33801313
what did they mean by this?
>>33801449
>>33801447
gotcha
my grandfather had a mk2,said it was the easiest thing to clean.
i always liked the idea of "simple mass produced arms"
did they ever fix the mag issue?
>>33801447
You can avoid using threaded endcaps by using plugs and roll pins, which would be easier to make if you don't have a pipe threader.
>>33801509
There were like multiple iterations that ironed out the issues.
I think Ian had video on them somewhere.

>>33801275
Uncharacteristically, Ian didn't go into detail about the Yugo-German reparations background of this design and the short comings of material available to the Yugos which lead to the design
>>33801317
essentially a severe lack of machining equipment , labour intensive parts like springs (not to mention a non-existent prewar arms industry)
was the reason for this design iteration of the MP40.
7/10 Iain do better my beautiful dude
>>33801661
What if he is simply tired and would like to do something different?
Okay so the charging handle has that little clip or whatever so you can lock the bolt forwards for safety reasons but what stops the bolt from locking forwards when shooting normally? The clip is spring loaded so wouldn't it engage when the bolt goes home?
