I want one of these for my Mac10, but aside from how cool it is, the fact that with anything other than a 10 round mag, you'd print, kinda renders the whole thing useless. I dont understand why anyone would have wanted this for concealed reasons in the 80's.
a f/a mac 10 would fire all 10 rounds in 3/4ths of a second.
>>
>>33796645
This. Most people who work in an extremely active/dangerous field (Military, police, Fire, Rescue) that I know wear dive watches because you can beat the shit out of them and they still work. 2 of my professors wear Rolex Submariner because they are durable. From the back of a rescue to trauma flight to SWAT medic, most wear a tried and true diver. While there are times to wear a watch on the inside of the wrist, it is inconvenient most of the time. When its go time, then you can rotate the band easily enough.

Note the two magazine holders on the other side. With them, you'll get at least one second of cumulative fire.
>>
>>33796728
Either that or your a sniper who's told to kill the two guards in the tower at 22:00
>>
>>33797669
Note that the two mag holders are also considerably larger than a ten round magazine as well.
>>
>>33797669
>>33797760
I understand this, but dumping your whole mag in less than half a second on purpose, or on accident (more likely) and then having to immediately reload would only not get you killed if you were shooting at just one person.

Most cops wear cheap shit digital watches. Some show off with slightly less cheap shit G-shocks.
I'm an anomaly for wearing my cheap shit Seiko 5 on patrol.
The only dive watches you'll see in a police department will probably be on guys in the scuba team.

It's really not that bad if it's your own watch and it's one you're used to.
I have a Tissot T-Race, which has only two hands, and counts the seconds in its own smaller watch, yet I've no problem telling the time with it because I've used it for so long.
When using any other watch, it takes me longer due to not being familiar with it.
Almost drove off the road when I tried to look at the watch in a mate's car and found it was an analog watch with no numbers instead of the gray-on-green digital watch with inch-sized digits I have in my shitbox.

Long sleeves and gloves should help with that.

>Carrying extra weight that gets caught on shit/gives off glare/digs into your wrist if you move it too far

A phone is essentially a pocket watch and far more useful considering you can keep it charged, which is any time not during SHTF, which wouldn't matter because you can tell relative time using the damn sun. Actual things to look for are:

>Carries shit in non-gun hand
>Positions self with back facing wall
>Looks at people's hands before looking at their face
>Backs into parking spaces
>Pies corners when walking around them/looks down at the bottom of the corner for feet
>Freaks out if people get close to gun side

At least that's the shit I catch myself doing after 3 years of LE (never wore a fucking gay ass watch my entire career)
>>
>>33810049
Also shit my gf calls me out for doing:

>Parks a house away from destination to avoid ambush
>Can dismount from a car within a second of putting it in park
>Talks to people with hands in ready position/autisticly plays with fingers
>>
>>33796564
It's because it's easier/more efficient to look at the inside of your wrist rather than the outside.

if we went with you're reasoning you might as well put a clock on the gun.

I bet you can't even read analog time.
>>

>fumble with your phone trying to hit the power button so you can see the time
>perp sees you being a complete mess
>reaches into his waistband while your hands are occupied
>pop pop
>can't shitpost on /k/ anymore once you're dead

Stop being a faggot and wear a watch on patrol. Even barring tactical issues with trying to check the time on your phone, it looks unprofessional as fuck. Hold yourself to a higher standard.

That's literally the only time I need the time. We don't write summons dipshit, everything is done via computer which has the time.

Are you implying that in the rare circumstances cars dont have a way to keep time, the driver wont just ask the crew chief over radio?

They were a styling trend from the '60s-'70s meant to imitate the design of certain technological components and features in the cars at the time. They had nothing to do with actual motorsport.

The objectively best tactical timepiece would be a wristband with two strips of color leds that show 6 colors roybgp and four bands for binary minutes.
red - 1
blue - 2
...
purple - 6
four bands lit: 1+2+4+8= +15 minutes

You don't need to know which quarter of the day it is. and if you actually need it, then you just put led dots on the side of the band and have them light in a pattern that such the n+1 number of consecutive leds represents which quarter of the day it is.

13:54 would be:
two adjacent leds lit on the side pattern, red, green, then the third binary band.
Simple, clear, able to be read from all angles, and efficient.

I dinged my chink chronometer up good on the door of my lathe, before I decided to make it face inwards.
Someone in a bar told me to wear my watch like a man lol

I guess people who have to check the time often wear it like that because it is more convenient.

It's commonly used to measure an objects speed. Its application is limited and specialized, but in an operator sense it can be valuable.

See car coming 2 miles away, start it, when car passes you stop it, report average speed to units up the road to prepare ambush/etc.

Casio M5610 is the best watch for operating or survival.

- only like $90
- solar powered
- atomically/radio time keeping
- chronograph
- alarm
-countdown timer
- can tell you time in any timezone in like 2 seconds
- rated for 200m
- tough solar movt
- not a faggy $9 CVS model like OPs
- iconic design, other watches imitate the m5610, not the other way around

As a loggie attached to a "special" unit here is the list.

How to look like an operator.

Work out a lot. Not just a few hours a day, multiple hour sessions morning, lunch, afternoon. Light weights and lots of reps.
Buy tan trousers, put them on, wrap tape on the legs in a drop leg holster pattern, take them off and leave them hanging on the wash line for two months. The I've been in the bad parts of the world look with out actually going there.
Complain a lot about how the issued weapons selection is not suitable to your mission and demand that the unit supply a particular weapon just for you.
Come barging into my office and demand that the unit pay for a short course in lockpicking for just one person, in another country, when the same instructor team will be giving that course in a week less than forty miles away.
Spend two weeks reviewing the protected identity procedures to find a reason why the unit can not send people to an event than order everyone in the unit to wear unit monogrammed PT shirts within sight of the public.
Demand that I buy forty kilo dumbbell when every fumbbell over twenty kilos has a layer of dust on them.
Keep requesting custom made replicas of foreign uniforms be issued to various members of the unit as an operational requirement, get upset when I call in IG to explain to them, again, why they can't wear another army's uniform.
Can't understand why I won't issue someone a new iPhone until they fill out the forms explaining how the one I gave them last month is missing.
Keep asking me why I limp when they can see the para tab on my uniform.
Demand extra rations than get upset when I keep to the healthy eating guidelines and don't just hand out hamburgers.
Get upset when they find out that the multiple satellite TV feeds in the operations cell only have news and curemt event channels and no movies or game of thrones.

I agree. When dealing with paitents, I write down time arrived, times vitals taken, taking heart rate and resperations, times meds administered, time how long to redose. One rule from EMT is always have a watch and a pen, because you are always writing things down and you are always timing things.
