Right now I'm in the middle of finishing up a knife. Need to sand it some more, than polish it up.

Also got a AR 15 I'm in the middle building. Using a Anderson upper and lower with some mil parts left over. Need to get spme sights for it and done.

Any one know of some iron sights that are solid, dont go flippy, floppy to go up and down?

My broomhandle lacks its lanyard ring. I finally found another one at a gun show that still had the ring and was able to sort of measure it. I ordered some split rings in roughly the right size but they're nickel so I need to "antique" them to match the rough finish on the gun. I figured maybe I'd abrade them real good and do a cruddy cold blue or something.

I don't want to strip away everything to start again, so I'm now debating on leaving as is and just oiling it down every week or two.

If you want to buy American, there are some M1903s that can be had for that. Mine was $440 after FFL fees.
If not, Enfield rifles converted to .308 seem like they fit your bill. Maybe an SKS, but they're starting to top out with prices somewhere between $350 and $450 from what I've heard.

I'm really interested in this solar power station, though. If they're too big to upload, what about a link? Maybe some instruction for how to build your own?

Been meaning to get to work on an Indie movie I've been planning for a bit, but trying to mod L4D2 (and failing) and being addicted to Rising Storm have distracted me.

I need to start the second draft of the script, and think on how to actually end the film. The beginning is super well planned in my head, the middle has always had similar plot points, but the end is.. I dunno.

Also it's a /k/ related as fuck film.

It was my grandfathers gun. I doubt I'll ever actually use it, but I just wanted a functional trigger guard. I'll probably remake it now that i have some idea on how it ended up looking. Or I'll keep it, rebarrel it for .22LR and use it as a winter rabbit gun so I can keep my fingers nice and toasty in a glove.
>>
>>33803088

I don't have any good pictures, and the thing is too damn big to really showcase. I will describe it and provide a pic of part of it.

>take 40mm ammo case
>put car battery inside, I was lucky enough to get a Li-on battery with the same specs definitely suggest that you get the best in power for it
>get 3M dual-lock velcro to fasten every internal component
>Get an ALICE frame
>cut holes in the case and frame along the center aluminum bar to connect the two
> get a two outlet inverter, I got one with USB ports on it for a phone
>get some Harbor Freight solar panels, the whole set makes it easiest, but if you want to save space you can get three panels and a different charge regulator
>put the battery to the far left, and the regulator upward and the inverter on its side
>use a two outlet, very small and very short extension cord
>get an outdoor outlet box, one with a water tight seal and O-ring
>cut out a hole under the case handle that is on the opposite side from the battery, where the regulator and inverter is
>cut on three sides, do not remove the metal piece
>fold it to one side and feed the extension cord on the outside of the box
>attach the outlet box so that it will fit under the handle, but without scraping the ground
>use some heavy double sided tape to hold the outlet from the extension cord in the box
>cut the negative wire between the battery and the inverter, as the battery will be drained without putting in a switch
>get a piece of wood or plastic and cut it to shape to cover the components, on this you can install your switch for easy access
Congratulations you now have a box with a battery in it.

>For the panels, you can get creative with it, but here's what I did
>got 90 degree aluminum bars from Lowe's
>cut them into three sections
>hacked it into shape so it had a flat end on each side
>attach hinge to the flat sides and each of these brackets to the panels
>connected together so it is slightly more compact
>>
>>33803855
>use some kind of steel plate as wide as the shoulder strap loops on the frame and bend them onto the frame
>drill it through
>drill through the center panel bracket or the center of the bar and connect the two with a heavy bolt
>cut a hole into the case and attach it to the charge regulator
>cut it to length so there is no extra
>keep the regulator on at all times once connected, it has never drained the battery on me
>put it in the sun
>flip the inverter switch
>plug shit in

It is pretty shitty, but I plan to refine it. Warning, it is heavy as a motherfucker and the handles aren't the greatest thing to use to carry it for more than 30 yards. Putting wheels on the bottom of the array would be useful.

Thing works great for a remote campsite that you can drive to. Friend of mine borrowed it and slapped it on the back of his Jeep during some offroad.

No worries, man. I've spent too much time researching how to refinish various metals, even though I have no way to do what I want to do on my own.

But, hey, at least I can help with others' specific requests for information.

Im not entirely sure. I have a lee handpress that i got at a garage sale a couple weeks ago that came set up with 9mm dies. But money is no issue, so i may just ham out the money and get a hornady single stage.

What do you currently have? Im just getting into as well obviously and i have tons of .38 brass to reload. Not to mention when i bought the hand press, the guy gave me like 500 nickel plated brass cases for .357. So i guess thats the universe's way of saying i need a .357.
I also want to load 8mm, 5.56 and .303 british. Im really excited
>>
>>33807611
The only guns worth mentioning are 5.56, 7.62x39, 12g, and .30-06. If anything I need some decent brass for the -06 and then figure out how I'm going to shoot any.

I don't live near any good hunting areas or ranges, and my longest range around is $200/year membership or $25/day pass, and even then only 100 yards maxed.

I had seen a single stage reloader when I was a kid for a 12g, so I might look into that. I've always wanted to load my own shot. MAYBE, just maybe, I'll get into the silencer game and find out how to load subsonic for any of the other calibers.

You should really load shotgun shells. My father always reloaded them and i used to spend time with him and i remember it being so fun! We used to do all kinds of dangerous shit like mix red and green charges and shots. I remember him blowing up a shotgun at one point and after that he wasnt much into reloading.
