It isn't, stop posting these stupid threads.
North Korea isn't worth the hassle, at most China will slap them down a peg, oust the incumbent fat fuck and put in someone more pliable and less antagostic.
Simple.

If that's a linear scale then it should only be about 400,000 kg/hour, which is no big deal. You could walk that off.

Awhile back, before shit got a serious as it has lately, in a NK thread I proposed an idea. It's worthless idea now that Trump is in office, as his ego wouldn't let it happen, but let's pretend we're back in 2015

The whole work just ignores North Korea. Nobody responds to their threats or announcements. Nobody reports on anything they do. Nobody answers the phone when they call, nobody calls them.

Any and all powers who matter in the least just ignore them. They launch missiles into the sea and nobody even mentions it in any newspaper ever. It'd be hard to commit everyone to do it, but imagine if we did. What would be the end result? I feel like it's the best course of action.

Acknowledging literally anything they do at all is just fueling their fire to continue to be shitbirds playing the double edged sword of "we build this army to defend ourselves against the whole world who is against us" and then they do something that demonstrates that they could potentially antagonize the world, like sink a ship or launch some missiles, and when we respond they say "see? see their hostile actions against us? we were right to build up our forces because everyone is against us!!"

I'm telling you, if we all just pretended they didn't exist, and seriously commit to it, it'd be the best thing we could do
>>
>>33797953

Lots of typos there, but I'm sure y'all get my drift

Imagine Kimbo's face when he launches a salvo of missiles into the sea and SK, USA and Japans papers don't even mention it
>>

Who knows, maybe a strategic nuke used on pyongyang.

I seriously doubt Donald Trump will allow a madman threatening the American people with a nuclear terror attack to continue instigating.

Short of NK launching a preemptive artillery barrage into SK or launching a BLM that lasts longer than an average round of sex, nothing is going to happen. NK is like this guy said >>33793963
NK doesn't have the ability to effectively project force too far beyond the DMZ due to lack of transports/fuel/logistics.

Yes the immediate DMZ would be a complete clusterfuck and there would be heavy casualties, but after the initial push, SK and Allied forces would kick their teeth in and push them back. The question would then be whether SK and the US would have the stomach to march through Pyongang and depose Kim and deal with the aftermath of the whole mess.

Short answer is no one. Rehabilitating and rebuilding NK would bankrupt SK and be a massive drain on their GDP and the rest of the world due to the massive deficiency in just about everything in that country that would need to be rebuilt or brought up to modern standards.

No one wants to be the one to sign that check. No one wants to be the one in charge of that clusterfuck and post-clusterfuck cleanup.

Short of NK suddenly figuring out a viable, accurate Ballistic deliverable nuke in the immediate future, no one's going to do shit.

>I seriously doubt Donald Trump will allow a madman threatening the American people with a nuclear terror attack to continue instigating.

kek.
>>
>>33793815

Everyone's argument that North Korea is somehow a threat is all based upon them being able to put a warhead on Seoul, and yet all of their recent missile tests have been failures.

As for the artillery, they'd get a handful of volleys off before their guns would be destroyed by US and SK missiles

The war would be over in a few days. it would be like Iraq 2.0. We'd flatten their whole military in less than a week, and then we'd spend years trying to root out the following insurgency.
>>
>>33793815
Hopefully with an ICBM hitting San Francisco, LA, DC, and NYC.
>>
>>33798391
No way China would let SK/US take Pyongyang. If shit started popping off they'd move to Pyongyang to "help pacify" the situation and basically stage a coup claiming lil kim offed himself or whatever so they can install a governor from the party.
>>
>>33798442
Bingo. I wouldn't want to be the person in charge trying to root out the remaining die hard SF Norks that would fight for "the dear leader" despite the war ending. Those guys would give the goatfuckers a run for their money in terms of fanatacism. Though I suppose that would depend on how hungry they were too.
>>
>>33798540
Yeah that's also true. There's always the risk of China suddenly butting in and installing a puppet regime in Kim's place (or at least trying to) that has the potential to ruffle all sorts of diplomatic feathers. Another reason why folks probably won't do much without NK doing something phenomenally stupid.
>>
>>33797497
Fuck off Nork, I wish we can just take them over and annex them into a state.
>>
>>33793815
NK artillery bombards Seoul. US and SK AF silence it within minutes, but hundreds or thousands die. It's a major metropolitan center, so even one shell does huge damage.
Meanwhile, NK army launches human wave attacks on the DMZ. It's mostly held back, with a few places falling due to sheer numbers, but these are recaptured within hours.
Do they use missiles? Maybe, maybe not. Most likely, they're destroyed on the launch pads or en-route by air forces and anti-missile systems. Possibly one sneaks through and hits its target. Nothing really changes
NK army is driven back steadily. Pyongyang is captured within a week. Splintered fanatics retreat to the mountains. Less-fanatical generals set themselves up as warlords.
Civilian reaction is mixed. Some are grateful. Some are frightened. I suspect the Kim cult would collapse quickly, but some would still fight back, or join the guerillas in the mountains.
The war in the mountains would drag on for years. Some people would engage in some form of guerilla activity, similar to post-war Germany, but it wouldn't turn into another Afghanistan.
Germany almost went bankrupt after reunification. Everything had to be restructured. East Germany had a different political system, a different filing system, a different wattage of electricity. While South Korea is stronger economically than Germany of the early 90's, reunification would be a major drain on resources for years to come, even with international aid pouring in from all corners.
China would be left in an awkward position. North Korea has always served as a buffer between them and the US-friendly South. Maybe they'd work to influence the new Korea with aid and trade.
Refugees would be a problem. As the Syrian conflict has shown, even with vast private and international aid efforts, refugees tend spill out all over. Expect a lot of undocumented migrants drifting across Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
>>
>>33798701
>Do they use missiles? Maybe, maybe not. Most likely, they're destroyed on the launch pads or en-route by air forces and anti-missile systems. Possibly one sneaks through and hits its target. Nothing really changes
Even if they hit a major strategic target, like Seoul or (somehow, since I doubt even their most advanced, top-secret missiles have the range) Washington, nothing would really change on the war front. Obviously, there would be major repercussions, depending on what happens and the damage, but in terms of the ground war? NK AF prisoners are 'mysteriously' found with NATO caliber bullets in the back of the head.
>>
>>33798442
>The war would be over in a few days.
And USA will lose it.
>>33798555
Dream on. Trump and US administration are helpless in this case. There is nothing serious that they can or will do to Norks. American ships will retreat soon.
>>
>>33798701
>NK artillery bombards Seoul. US and SK AF silence it within minutes

Minutes? Haha.
Nope.
>>
>>33797953
Then they start lobbing shells on people instead of water, or resume kidnappings of foreign nationals, or more assassination attempts.
>>
>>33793855
They will sink the Carl Vincent and they will detonate their EMP device over the US. Don't underestimate your enemy.

>>33795174
the entire mega-city of Seoul is a bunker. theres a reason everything has deep ass subbasements and there are 4 story malls underground. its also why the schools have the cafeteria kitchens below ground there. there isn't much in the city where you cant get underground into a shelter in 5 minutes once the air raid sirens go off. if you can get to a dept store, grocery store, convenience store, subway, subway restaurant(this calms the inner jonah hill), or basically any bigger building built since 1957, you are safe.

not even the docks. they have a big shaft system there too.

>detonate their EMP device over the US.

Anon we have being over this. There is no EMP device.
>>
What if NK missiles work perfectly fine but the US has a technology to make them fail remotely?
>>
>>33793815
Not

1) North Korea has not conducted large scale manoeuvres in 50 years

2) Only a small number of North Korean Artillery pieces can actually range very far, and in an invasion they would have to be moved out of their fortifications to help advance.
Also their doctrine is to keep 25% in reserve in case of counter-artillery, and apparently they have a 25% dud rate too, so their destructive power is overstated. Estimates are 80,000 dead, not millions.

3) South Korea has had 50 years to prepare, there are bunkers for 20 million people in seoul, the death numbers would drop rapidly.
There are also many many roadblocks and counter batteries waiting.

4) While the North Korean air force is mostly ancient and lacks fuel, the North Korean AA system, while mostly old, is still very dense and quite capable, if they invade and so move beyond their AA screen then they will get blown up.

Best case scenario would be China agreeing to cut their exports (cutting oil would cripple NK) and then with various proxy avenues (maybe an assassination) to force a regime change.

BUT thats not going to happen so its going to get messy.
>>
>>33797953
Literally no one on Earth should trade with them. If their "Juche" is such a great ideology they should be able to be 100% self sufficient.

No trade with China, no internet access, nothing. We set up a complete naval blockade around them and forbid land trading of any kind with China or Russian under penalty of war.
>>
The closest thing to a policy the administration has articulated over the past few days sounds exactly like the Obama policy, so I'm not super concerned. That said their statements are all over the place so bombing could start in 10 minutes.

Have you ever been to the DMZ and seen the areas around it?

South Korea has been preparing for the war to resume for literally 50 years. Every single road leading to/from the DMZ is booby trapped, bridges are designed to be collapsed, the areas around there are completely undeveloped. Seoul has known its is in the crosshairs for over five decades and has probably the most developed civilian bombing shelter system in the entire world.

Every year that goes by the threat from North Korea diminishes. The weapons along the border are the same ones that have been there since the Soviet Union existed while the worst koreans are constantly developing new systems and cooperating with NATO allies to expand them.

This all assumes the military elite would even let Kim declare war at all and not just kill him on the spot for starting a war they all know will never be won. The powerful in North Korea are comfortable with Jim Beam, porn and chinese sluts. Why would they throw that away just so some little fat kid can play at being a generalissimo?
