your max download speed does not equate to how fast you download a torrent. it relies on a network of other people with bits and pieces of the file, AKA peers. peers upload those pieces through the torrent client and those pieces then get downloaded to your machine.
being a nice lad and uploading the bits is called seeding. this process can take a while if you have people who download the file and then don't seed.
