Top wew lad

For small game I use .204 Ruger if I am gonna sell some coyote pelts

I don't eat trash animals like squirrels and rabbits. If I am looking to eat something too small for centerfire calibers I do some fishing.

Nice OP, fuck that's cool, and not a bad price either. Would be cool as shit to slap this thing on my 10/22 takedown.

113dB average, making it quietest thing in .22lr. Easy maintenance. Compact. Stainless so it's durable as hell. No first round pop, so quiet right away. I'm guessing 111dB with a little shot of water or wire pulling gel. Very decent precision. This is death to rabbits, like a shooting gallery, they won't know what killed the guy next to them so hunters/pesters can just whack a bunch in a row.
>>
>>33792846
>with a little shot of water or wire pulling gel.
Can you explain what that is for someone who knows hardly anything about suppressors?
>>
>>33793125
Using a silencer 'wet' reduces first round pop for some and increases the overall effectiveness of the silencer. Water absorbs heat more effectively than air, so the gases cool down quicker around the bullet.
>>
>>33793166
So do you apply the fluid to the outer surface?

No you fill the baffles internally. Like this

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/02/06/breaking-atf-white-paper-leaked/

The document covers a few things, but this document focuses on 2.

1. Reversing / clarifying /whatever the absurd claim that shouldering a pistol is a "redesign."

2. Down desire within the ATF to reclassify supressors, removing them from the NFA. The paper cites changing attitudes towards supressors, their infrequent use in crimes, and completely unmanageable work load their registration causes.

The first of those 2 items became official the other night. That, combined with this leaked paper, makes me more hopeful than i have been re: hpa/ suppressor deregulation.

>completely unmanagable workload caused by suppressor paperwork

Damn, I didn't even think of that. The ATF probably wants us to have SBRs back (hence why they're giving us back the arm brace loophole) and suppressors deregulated, just to make their own lives easier, so they can get back to fighting actual crime, instead of being used as an admin agency to push registration papers.

Is it bad that Im starting to hate the ATF less now?

They did us a huge favor with allowing ppl to shoulder arm braces.

Im not gonna count my suppressors before they hatch, but it seems like the ATF is trying to make up for shooting so many dogs
>>
>>33793452
You're forgetting quite a bit there.
>>
>>33793672
They're not "allowing" people to shoulder an arm brace. If you buy one with the intention of using it as a stock and shouldering it, they they still consider that manufacturing an SBR. If you don't but happen to shoulder it incidentally/by accident, then they don't mind.
>>
>>33793438
>literally not a rifle made by Ruger

Stirs my soup
>>
>>33791900
Cool but what's the point of integral suppression? Is there a performance increase I'm unaware of?

You essentially have a permanently attached suppressor, you can't take it off or choose to use a different one if you want. Cleaning seems more difficult too. You might as well get a 10/22 with a 10" threaded barrel. It'd be a cheaper and slimmer option as well.
>>
>>33793708

sounds like semantics to me
>>
>>33793740
Less noise without adding to the overall length. Cans also change the balance of the rifle by shifting more weight to the end of the muzzle. Matter of taste really.
>>
>>33793811
The effective barrel length is 10" and there's 6" of permanently attacked suppressor. The balance thing is valid but .22 cans aren't that heavy.
>>
>>33793740
If you're buying a separate integrally-suppressed barrel for the takedown 10/22, we can assume you already have said takedown 10/22, which means you can always just go back to the regular barrel if you don't need it at the time.
>>
>>33793743
That's what the law is. If you buy a pistol brace and shoulder it all the time, post pictures of yourself shouldering it, and you refer to it as a "Stock" then the ATF doesn't like that and will put you in pound town
>>
>>33793870
Well then congrats on spending $900 on a suppressed .22, and that's before the tax stamp.
>>
>>33793878
I mean, that's fair, I'm just playing devil's advocate really. Hell, if it makes them money and increases awareness/support for the HPA, I can't fault them or complain. No one is forcing anyone to buy it.

10. The Recreationist

A strange breed, the Recreationist likes to travel in packs. Dressed in a costume made up of at least four kinds of animal skin and wearing a hat with a tail hanging from it, the Recreationist loves to pretend he lives in the time of the frontier. This applies to his firearms, personal gear, and hygiene when in character, unfortunately. Prefers to be called by some self-applied moniker like “Mountain Mike” or “Raccoon-eating Dave” instead of his real name. Owns a $6000 handcrafted Italian reproduction blackpowder musket and a custom belt knife that cost more than a used motorcycle. Spent three years and thousands of dollars researching his outfit for authenticity; still looks like a hobo. Has never slept outside a night in his life, and takes 4 different medications for allergies. The Recreationist loves to use period slang, often saying things like “varmint” or “dadgummit”, believing this makes him more authentic. May occasionally become confused and throw in a “Get thee hence” or “Zounds!” for good measure. Has nothing but disdain for newfangled weapons, “newfangled” indicating anything capable of firing more than one aimed shot in a minute. Loves to engage in staged duels with others of his own kind, as he is an actor at heart. Once “shot” will begin a 10-minute death scene worthy of Sir Laurence Olivier… or the Idiot Girlfriend. Arrived at the range in a BMW 740i with onboard GPS navigation and a car fax.

Depending on how it's built, there's actually a performance DECREASE...In FPS.

Integral suppressors can allow you to use normal ammo as subsonic by a combination of shorter barrel length and porting within the suppressor tube to further slow the bullet.

I have a non takedown integral, I have to get into 1200+ FPS .22 like minimag to get a sonic crack from it.

Also,

10" barrel with a detachable suppressor is a two stamp purchase, and two wait times if you don't get them at the same time. An integral is usually built to be only one stamp.

And...I think they look really slick.
>>
>>33795000
I make about $30 per from a local taxidermist who uses them in hide repairs.

You should probably kill yourself.

Internal volume is pretty big on it.

I'd really like to see one.

If they're that large and click solidly together, it should be easy to still take it apart after shooting a lot.

I like that it's stainless baffles also. Toss that crap in the ultrasonic and come back later.

Keeps the barrel length in rifle territory while having the equivalent of a suppressed SBR, minus the SBR stamp.
