This shape is extremely strong.

How can /k/ weaponize it?

Taofledermaus did a vid on them

weaponize sperm you say?

it has nothing to do with the shape shithead.. its about surface tension and they are extremely brittle, touch the tail and the whole thing explodes

>it has nothing to do with the shape shithead

It works on the same load bearing principle as an arch, you know what the arch is a shape.
>>
Naturally occurring shape. Not even the strongest structure.
The next war will rely not on dense brute force but flexibility that flows like water overwhelming targets.
Think swarms of tiny little needles acting like one.
>>
>>33790521
>Are you Mormon?
Are you a moron?

It's about pressure and tension. These have less to do with the shape and more to do with the thermodynamics of rapidly cooled glass.
>>
>>33790465
Haha, I play AC: Unity too.

Aside from the use it was put to there (somehow holding poison though it's also suggested that the poison was just the ground glass), it's unlikely to me weaponisable unless you can somehow form uniform shapes. That might not be impossible though.

If so, I'm still not sure of an application of it. It's strong but it's not dense enough to be a penetrator.
>>
>>33790912
>It's about pressure and tension
Dude, wtf are you saying?
I'm laughing so hard, what makes an egg durable in high pressure fluids? Its shape.

What makes this Drop durable? Its shape
How we get its shape? Trough rapidly cooling glass

You are mixing shit, don't try to play it smart, there are some in here who got degrees in these shit

The CONFIGURATION of the pressures and tensions is what's important. Any glass will have various tensions and compressions, what matters is the SHAPE it's all configured in.

I don't know if you're just pretending to be that stupid or you actually are.
It has to do with the cooling rates when it is made which puts huge tension on the outside, that's why it explodes when it is even scratched, but is very very hard. It could have those properties with any spherical like shape. But those properties aren't inherent to that shape. I'll say it again, it's from the rapid cooling of the drop, not just the shape.

Here is a video that will explain it on a grade school level you fucking mong.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xe-f4gokRBs
>>
>>33790521
It's not the shape, it's the crystal structure
>>
>>33791869
The CONFIGURATION of the stresses is what makes the Rupert drop strong. EVERY differentially cooled piece of glass will have stresses, the strength of the rupert drop comes from the CONFIGURATION of the stresses.

What you're describing is how that configuration comes into being. That's not a refutation that the shape is essential.

Seriously, you must have a double-digit IQ.
>>
>>33791926
Did you even read what I wrote? Do you know how to read? As I said, any spherical shape that is rapidly cooled like that will have those properties, but the specific shape of the Rupert drop itself isn't needed.
>>
They are doing an experiment on the ISS to make a perfect sphere heated by laser then rapidly cooled.

Yes.
We need a machine so advanced that it can melt glass and drop drips of it in water.
>>
>>33797797
HA! Maybe in like 20-30 years. Our current technology has a loooong way to come before anything close to that could see the light of day.
>>
goddamnit guys. It's the residual compressive stresses on the outside that prevent crack propagation in the brittle material. Once the crack reaches the central part of the glass where there are residual tensile stresses, you have unstable rapid crack propagation that makes it go kaboom. The crack propagates at about the speed of sound of the material which (IIRC) is related to the modulus of the material.

Itd probably be more dangerous to the people trying to weaponize it but if there's a breakthrough in making prince Rupert's drop it might work

I can show you what that would look like.

>>33798539 #

Watch this. That evil is already here.

http://www.1man1jar.org

Click that link and witness the horror.

I've always wondered what happened to the guy.

My guess is a hospital visit followed by loads of medication to prevent sepsis and a diet of peanut butter.

Also if I broke a rule, no ban pls only warning. After all /k/ posts images and vids of people being shot and beheaded because its /k/ related.

Its not considered guru for these reasons.

The link shows what weaponized prince Rupert's drops could do.
>>
>>33790465
Make it out of uranium glass. The drop shatters, making airborne uranium dust. Target breaths in uranium. Uranium enters the bloodstream and ruins the kidneys.

>We need a machine so advanced that it can melt glass and drop drips of it in water.

>>
>>33798610

No it won't.

You can make a prince Rupert's drop the size of a drop of water and hit it center mass with a hammer.

It won't break. The tail sets off the chain reaction that disrupts the molecular pull that keeps it insanely strong.
>>
>>33798607

I deleted and reposted with a disclaimer to mods in case I got reported.

FFS I got banned 3 days for posting medical photos on /sci/ because of the guru rule....

Its not guru if it isn't pornographic and board related.

So don't ban me pls.

I've got a lot of posts I made in this board and one on /an/ so I want to fulfill my obligations to respond to anons.
>>

Oh yea, I couldn't believe 1man1jar was still around.

But its related and shows how dangerous glass is.

Glass can fuck you up.

I bet meatspin is out there still, too.

I wonder if duckrolling still happens on /b/

Not really since greasmonkey scripts, later 4chanX, and later yet 4chan itself integrated functionality to preview posts on hover, making it very obvious when it is a cross-thread post.
Same thing with inline embedding of youtube videos.

Everyone makes mistakes. We live and learn.

Shaming someone for the rest of Their life is cruel and breeds hatred and murderous thoughts.

I bet you've some dumb shit, too. We all have. What if you had ghosts watching you, never letting the world forget the dumb shit you did? Because I know you've been embarrassed too

If you learned and repented from your ignorance/stupidity, then it should be forgiven.

Can't we all just move on with our lives?!

If these dumbass vids are still around in 60 years I will be disappointed.

A lot of women are COERCED into porn to pay rent because of the lack of decent jobs.

"Suck dick on camera for the world to see so you can pay rent. Or you can be homeless and get raped in a shelter anyways."

That's the choice many have. Forcing people into porn is human trafficking and rape.

You need a little human compassion and you should brush up on laws. I'm no lawyer but so much of this feels wrong.

You do realize Gorilla Glass on phones is done using the same principle as Prince Rupert's Drop. It's what makes the glass so tough and impact resistant. The shape means fuck-all and the application of how the glass is created is what gives it the strength.

Prince Rupert's Drop is just the easiest, simplest and "natural" way to create/demonstrate the phenomenon.

>>33799973

My home town has 2000 people. My mom and family would drive an hour to work each day.

Yes, legit jobs can be hard to find.

I've been to my cities unemployment office twice oner 3 years. They had the exact same jobs in their system both times, none of which I was a candidate for because I have a criminal history for giving away two joints. And this is in a town with 30,000 people AND an air force base!!!!

I believe it's a government funded employment agency...

And its obviously a scam. The SAME jobs after THREE years?! Scam. Public service bamboozlery to scam taxpayers.

>>33799962

It was entertaining when different chans had wars but when individuals got targeted it was a crime.
>>
>>33790540
No, it isn't about the shape.

You make them by rapidly cooling molten glass. Due to the slow heat transfer in glass, this means that by the time the whole thing solidifies, the core will be quite hot, but the surface quite cool. As the whole thing then cools to an even temperature, the core wants to undergo significant thermal shrinkage, while the skin doesn't. As a result the core will be trying to pull the skin to a smaller size, while the skin stretches out the core. The inside is put under compressive residual stress, and the core under pulling residual stress.

Now for a tough material, this wouldn't matter much. But glass is hard and brittle. Such materials are very sensitive to being pulled apart, but resist compression very well. And when pulled apart, the failure mode is almost always that a small crack forms around some surface imperfection, and then grows rapidly, resulting in the material breaking at a much lower load than its tensile strength. Under compression any such crack will instead be pressed shut.

So in the Ruper's drop we put the part where failure is likely to start under a compressive load, which it can handle quite easily. Any straining load put on the surface must then first cancel out the compressive load simply to get to zero, after which it can start trying to crack the glass. As a result the glass is significantly toughened, to the point where its high strength will be apparent no matter how we stress it.

Hardened glass uses exactly the same mechanism, but usually in a vastly different shape.

And yes, I masterbate to porn. I try to only jerk to people that are obviously OK with it.

I dont like feeling even more disgusted with myself after I nut and close 20 browser tabs.

And I can't control it, either. I have no control over my hormones, I didn't get to tell puberty "no thanks, you're more trouble than your worth". I can't control it if I get a bonerr at work.
