The Tasmanian Tiger Mk.2 chest rig and similar clones are very popular among ruski SOF.
I have one myself and it's great for AK mags, however if you don't have a big chest/body type reaching the pouches on the sides is a bit hard.

I run the TAD Ranger Hoodie myself, two of them actually - in other words, the one all the other tactical fleeces are copied from.

Speaking of the original, I can say attest for the quality of the materials, though surprisingly despite the giant price tag, the build quality itself is lacking, if you ask me. Cut is exceptional, and features are plentiful. Plus, it does look swagtastic as fuck.

The clones are similar, except worse materials, and a bit worse build quality, while being based off on older Ranger Hoodies, they tend to lack some features, but, they are well worth the money anyways.

Plus, they look pimpin'.

Elaborate? For AK pouches I'd stick with slav gear companies like SSO, SRVV, and R-Karbid.
I currently have 2 SSO single tacos type mag pouches on my belt, I used to have an SRVV double AK mag pouch but messing with the flap with my off hand and hip was kind of annoying. I'm getting a carrier soon so I'll probably get 3 more SSO tacos.

You mean with a plate carrier under it, or with the plates IN the rig?

Because TT also makes a backpanel to convert it into a plate carrier, but honestly its not really that comfy.
I used it as such a couple times but putting it on and off is a pain in the ass and you need to make a small gimmick with the lumbar strap to tighten it correctly or it will always remain too large.
Friends of mine who weight like 130kg of pure fat had difficulties tightening it.
On repros made by ANA for example i think they solved it by removing the lumbar straps on the backpanel entirely and just having you weave the chest rig's lumbar strap through it (same thing i did).
If you want a single piece to do both chest rig and armor carrier it's ok-ish, otherwise i would recommend you look for a separate plate carrier.

As for wearing it over another carrier, you need to keep in mind that the Mk.2 is a cumbersome rig on its own already. Ruski SOF do it all the time so it's doable but you'll have a big profile when going prone.

Still, using it as a simple chest rig gives you tons of space, me and my mates use it all the time in that configuration and it's great in that regard.

I have the Tasmanian Tiger Mk.II chestrig with the back panel, and use AK mags (47 type).

The chestrig itself has a slot for an armor plate and as stated, the back panel does aswell. I do not have plates, because lol poor, but a 3 liter drinking bladder fits in the back panel perfectly and there's space to spare.

The adjustment straps are too short ie. i can't tighten them enough to prevent the kit from moving on me. I fixed this issue by buying a Brit flak vest and use that under the rig, no problem.

AK mags fit the pouches just fine, however the pouches are meant for two STANAGS, so one 7.62 AK mag fits in without any issues. The velcro flaps secure the mags in nicely aswell.

All in all, i don't think it's a bad kit for it's price range and it definitely suits someone with a tight budget, which is the no.1 reason why i bought it in first place.

So your priority should be get a decent rifle you're comfortable with and buy a ton of ammo then if you WANT, buy armor and some ammo pouches and get med (training first obviously, a fair amount of first aid is done with minimal to no equipment or can be improv'd) then if you do forest or field shit beyond the range get a way to carry some water. If you have friends get comms if they have it to.
