the slide of my glock is orange, like the OP. I did because I like the weapon to be high visibility. That way, if something happens and it ends up dropped, etc. I can easily see it.

I also found, in training drills, that when using the weapon in extreme close quarters or when grappling, it's nice because the orange makes it really easy to keep a check on where the muzzle is oriented in my peripheral while I focus on the fight.
