These guns are legendary for their utter reliability in any conditions and their ability to take abuse that would destroy most other rifles. Ask any Special Forces soldier in any army what is the best assault rifle on the planet and the answer will be the Kalashnikov, 9 times out of 10. NASA have even gone on record to say that if they had to send an astronaut to an alien planet and did not know what to expect, they would give him a Kalashnikov.
Great b8 lol.
Have you even seen how it operates in mud? It's hot fucking garbage.
Sure it's reliable, but it's reliability is completely and utterly over hyped.

6/10 OP, I smiled.

>Rifles don't work when you pour mud into action
Whoa dude, that's unheard of
>>33788594
>Implying I said drown it in mud
The ak is really open, not like an Ar which operates really tightly; the ak allows debris to enter the action easily.

>yfw you know nothing of AK's
keep looking like a fucking retard, newfag.
>>33788621

1. Simplicity
2. Environmental protection
3. Lack of small, dainty (and fragile) parts
4. Minimal use of tight tolerances
5. Use of very loose tolerances everywhere else
These things, taken together, suggest that the AK is narrowcast at its original role as a submachine gun replacement for the semi-literate peasant conscript army of a nation lacking depth in precision manufacturing. It was the perfect gun for the Red Army in World War II, even if it came a little too late. It was also, therefore, the perfect gun for the continuation Soviet Army.

>implying the soviets were about quality.
>Implying a loose action provides environmental protection
>Implying loose tolerances is a good thing
The only thing you have on your list that has any lick of sense is the simplicity factor.
But in this educated day and age pretty much anybody could learn to shoot any rifle within 10 minutes.
And before you misinterpret my argument again, they can't shoot it well. But no better then a Soviet conscript circa 1960.
>>33788688
Yeah well fuck you too dude. I'll buy what I want, it's a free mareket.
>>33788381
Really, NASA said that? Really? Like, for totes real?

be honest: have you ever even read anything about the Soviet Union beyond what some anon on a Transnistrian turnip farming forum said? The Soviet male literacy rate was almost 90% by the mid-1930s and their industrial capacity was massive because they underwent a period of huge industrial development during the interwar period. Feel free to keep spouting memes though
>>33788688
>implying the soviets were about quality.
tell me more about Soviet manufacturing processes post-1955 without resorting to /k/ memes that have already been regurgitated twenty-thousand times, I'll wait.
>The only thing you have on your list that has any lick of sense is the simplicity factor.
the controls on an AK are just as complex as the AR platform, which is to say, not at all. To an untrained person, an AR's controls are actually probably more intuitive and natural-feeling.
the Kalashnikov's main advantage over other contemporary designs is its tolerance to abuse, which most normies and forum-shitters confuse with "reliability."
> But no better then a Soviet conscript circa 1960.
a Soviet conscript in 1960 got to experience the Red Army as it neared its zenith in funding and quality, his training would undoubtedly allow him to take full advantage of a Kalashnikov's ~300m effective range. I'm sure you already knew this, of course.
>>33788594
This. AKs don't fail from a little dirt. You would have to pour mud into it to make it quit. And if you did get mud in the action, it's real fucking easy to get it cleared, unlike other firearms.

>the Kalashnikov's main advantage over other contemporary designs is its tolerance to abuse, which most normies and forum-shitters confuse with "reliability."
Could you care to explain the difference? Genuinely curious

Who the fuck is this slav nigger and where is his trigger discipline?

It doesn't matter. Trigger discipline is for all weapons, real or simulated, loaded or unloaded. Do not make me fucking repeat this again. Go back to the fucking ghetto if you want to play with them like toys, Jamal.

Not the same scathing anon, but the reliability is ability of the tool to perform it's function repeatedly, regardless of maintenance or attention (Cleaning or repair), wheres an AK is simply physically tough- you can buttstroke with it, drop it, bang it on things, use the folding stock innapropriately, and it will won't break it. A precision rifle may be reiable too, but it'll be much less tough than the AK, just by nature of it's job, as well as the loose tolerances on the AK

>Retards don't understand how easy it is to clean an ak.
