What does /k/ think of the Ruger 10/22 target model?

I want a semi auto, not a bolt action, and want something a bit more accurate that a standard 10/22, without spending a fortune.

Any suggestions/thoughts?
>>
>>33786625
I think you found it.

Personally, I'd rather get an aftermarket bull barrel though. Companies like Kidd seem like they produce a better option that factory Ruger.

its trash. but its been around so long that every one likes it because thats the only 22lr the know right off the top of the head.

i had a 10/22. hated it. have a remington 97. it was everything the 10/22 should have been.

if you want to spend just a little more money get the Anschütz MSR RX22. you will thank your self for not being a cheap fag that gets same thing just because everyone else has it.
>>
>>33786811
That's all fine, but you'll never be able to come near the level of aftermarket support that exists for the 10/22 platform.

If you don't like the 10/22, you don't like it.

I don't understand, but fine.

-Written by an owner of two 10/22s (so I'm clearly a bit biased), an old remington 552, and a person that has shot a number of .22 rifles.
>>
>>33786811
The MSR RX22 is not an easy to find gun.

Have a standard 10/22, really like it. What did you hate about yours?
>>
>>33787056
at do you mean its not easy to find? do you not know how to use google?

>>33786952
>level of aftermarket support that exists for the 10/22 platform.
what do you need other than optics? it has an adjustable stock, pistol grip, quad rail, adjustable trigger, you can get hicap mags and unlike the ruger they really feed with out stove pipping.

there is nothing wrong with the Rem597. there is aftermaket stuff for it. not the full on autistic shit like the 10/22 but are you wanting something that works well or are you wanting to tell all your redneck friends you got the same gun they all did and not you can put another $300 into it to make it shoot well?
>>
>>33787159
I mean like only 9 for sale on gun broker,

The website listed for it, even though a .us is in german?

http://www.anschuetz-msr.com/us
>>
>>33787159
More information of the models and configurations would be nice, but don't speak the foreign language. Price all over from 350 to 800 for it.
>>
>>33786811
>MSR RX22
>Look it up
>Fuck this is nice

>No threaded barrel

What the holy fuck! No!
>>
>>33787195
>I mean like only 9 for sale on gun broker,
how many did you want to see listed?

https://www.cdnnsports.com/msr-rx22-22lr-16-5-bl-adj-stk.html?___SID=U

its an anschuestz. you really think a ruger is going to be better?
>>
>>33787237
see these are these guys with titles such as gunsmith or machinist...

or you could get the model with a muzzle brake, take the brake off and...

how autistic are you?
>>
>>33787309
There isn't the Anschutz with muzzle break just the shitty other brand.

>Paying to get a barrel threaded

Lmao no
>>
>>33787251
Much better.

Is the charging handle or whatever they call it, reversible on the sides? All of them seem to have it on the left, instead of the right.
>>
>>33787456
>is charging handle reversible
yes. either side and in three locals.

the mag is on both sides as well.

folding stock
>>
>>33787251
Any link for a site with magazines for them, for sale?
>>
>>33787360
>Lmao no
so you want to buy a whole barrel just so you can have it threaded?

have you always been such a fag?

it should only cost $25 in the usa
>>
>>33787360
>There isn't the Anschutz with muzzle break just the shitty other brand.

https://www.cdnnsports.com/anschutz-msr-rx22-22lr-blackhawk-with-muzzlebrake.html?___SID=U

have you been this stupid your while like or did it just happen one day?

or was it something you have worked at your entire life?
>>
Tbh, .22 is becoming hard to come by if you live in America, and when there is some to buy usually is overpriced.
>>
>>33786952
the reason the 10/22 has such a huge aftermarket is stock parts are mediocre shit so everyone makes an "improved" version.
>>
>>33787659
its not 2012 any more. havent had any troubled finding 22 when i have looked.

people ave stopped hording it
>>
>>33787633
It's like a hundred most places I've seen or more to get it threaded. Not 25

>>33787641
No comment
>>
>>33787744
>It's like a hundred
oh, so you are that stupid. i just bet used car sells-men love you
>>
>>33787641

Wonder why the magazines are so hard to find for them everywhere is out of stock. That and $68 seems mighty pricey for a 22 round magazine, they shouldn't be running out of them for sale at that price.
>>
>>33787770
Most services especially online are that much. Feel free to link me ones that are cheaper.
>>
>>33787786
just before the new year i got 4 mags for 30USD each. maybe you should pick up a hone and ask a reseller when they will be back in stock.

i have been told the issc mags will work.

there is always the S&W M&P 15-22
>>
>>33787800
how do you get online physical service?

Send your barrel in?
>>
>>33787915
so, they have to deal with shipping and receiving rather then you just picking it up and you wonder why it cost more?

did you come from a single parent home?

was your mom a coke whore?

did you huff alot of paint or glue as a child.

i am not making fun of you i really would like to know why you cant think things out on your own.
>>
>>33787945
What? Youve never heard of sending your barrel in to get threaded before?
>>
>>33787989
i have not. do all the autistic kids do it these days or just you?

if it was just a barrel i would call a machine shop as ask what they charge for manual lathe time. it should be around 25-40 an hour. it should only take about 20min shop time to setup and turn. any longer than that... well just work out how turn around time and how much shop time before they do it
>>
Ever think about building one? You just need a receiver, a bolt, some pins, the barrel and barrel holder oner, a stock, and a trigger. They are super easy to build. All you need is an are some allen wrenches. But you can build a bull barreled tack driver.
>>
>>33788093
>All you need is an are some
*All you need are some
>>
>>33788107
kek. you are just dumb enough to believe that too

man that price is good. Thanks for the recommendation anon
>>
>>33788052
>>33788052
There are numerous places offering services for barrel threading.
>>
>>33788052
Most machine shops won't touch barrel steel, it eats through bits like crazy.

I also wouldn't trust Joebob's Autobody and Welding Supply to turn them concentric enough for suppressor use, and this is coming from someone who worked in one for years. Most won't even have the ability to measure concentricity beyond 0.005".
>>
>>33788383
wow... just fucking wow.
just what do you think barrel steel is? do you really not understand that it is used in everything?

they guys that run machines at this Joebob place have far more exp putting threads on things than any gun smith. you knot that is what they do for 40 hours a week.

and if you really believe that they cant measure beyond 0.005" you dont understand what machinist do. oil field work has tolerances much tighter then that.
>>
>>33788269
yep. i bet there is one just down the street from you because job shops are fucking everywhere. any town of more than 10,000 has at least 2 places with a lathe that can do the work
>>
>>33788480
I meant an online barrel threading service.
>>
>>33788383
you do know that barrels are annealed right? its just 4140 or 416r. sure its not a freemachining steel but its has high maintainability. its not a D2 or 17-4 but then again we machine those all the fucking time so its not like it would make a difference to anyone thats not a total fucktard like your self. go mack to your anime you little fucking worthless nothing shitlord
>>
>>33788490
so you check out with paypal and then print your barrel out? i mean its just like doing your taxes right?
>>
>>33787641
This is probably the shitty issc barrel that originally came on these guns.

Also threads listed as 1/2x20 not 1/2x28
>>
>>33787866
Do you remember where you ordered the mags from?
>>
Standard 10/22's are accurate enough. A target barrel isn't going to guarantee better accuracy, unfortunately, just less shot dispersion. Marlin Model 60's tend to be a bit more accurate and cheaper out of the box.
>>
>>33790624
Interesting, I would have thought they would be putting a tighter tolerance barrel on it, plus it is longer, sour would make a big difference, is that not the case?
>>
>>33792512
You have to remember that some of the people in this thread are idiots.
>>
>>33786625
Honestly OP the target model seems like a good deal, especially for less than 500 bucks. Seems like a good place to start, and if you want to customize you can.
>>
>>33786811
LOL nice motivator you mong. Girls like that are all around you but they think you smell wierd

Buy a standard 10/22 and customize it yourself. A new trigger group is the best 1st upgrade.
