Shit basic af gun owners buy.
Why are gun people so fucking dumb?

What's the latest on these things? They did do well in ballistic gel test IIRC.
>>
RIP ammo

'tactical' _______
>>
>>33785924
If loaded in a light cartridge like .380ACP it actually gives quite respectable penetration (and some cavitation).

If loaded in a spicy cartridge like .44 Magnum, it will hollow out a brown bear.
>>
>>33785933
Grippods are bretty useful.
>>
>>33785933
Have G2 not gone out of business yet?

I'd rather fucking carry Thunderzaps from the 1980's than R.I.Ps
>>
>>33785971
They seem like they're potentially useful on some guns, like a light support weapon or something (think the M27 if it fired from an open bolt).
>>
>>33786020
They help A LOT on the M16A4, they also are pretty useful when your filling sandbags.
>>
>>33785883
>omg it's new so it's bad!
You sound like a fudd. Post some r.i.p. ammo the next time you want to make this thread.
>>
>>33786059

Basic bitch spotted.
>>
>>33786048
>They help A LOT on the M16A4
Probably because they stuck a heavy-ass quad-rail on the thing so it's nice to have something to rest/balance it on.

Though I imagine the recoil must be pretty light with all that weight.

>>33786059
It's just Zed going through his shitposting motions.
>>
>>33786072
Like velvet. I hate ACOG's though.
>>
>>33785883
Is there anything special to these besides the shape?
I'd make it at home if i was really desperate to have it.
At least rip ammo takes fine machining to produce,
I can cut the corners off a round myself.
>>
>>33786099
It's like a propeller or a screw ripping through your body, it's the most brutal round ever.
>>
>>33786130
Could you stop shilling for a moment and explain why I should pay premium for less lead?
>>
>>33786085
I've never used an ACOG but if my other experiences with optics are any indication, astigmatism will make them not enjoyable.

A lot of people seem to like theirs though.

>>33786099
>Is there anything special to these besides the shape?
See: >>33785950

They're machined from copper barstock, so they're hard, the "flanging" or flat + shape to the tip makes them basically drill into tissue, thanks to the high speed and the spin imparted by the rifling.

This does two things:
1, Makes it cavitate most of it's path traveled in mass
2, Vastly increases penetration

The cavitation is mostly a meme, but the penetration is legit, they're not called Extreme Penetrators for nothing.
>>
>>33786099
It's more about penetration than anything. Lead = expansion and these are made from All copper or brass which is harder than lead and the tip geometry supposedly helps with penetration.
>>
>>33786145
The R.I.P has lots of fancy machining done to it to make a retarded bullet that performs like shit, it's therefore expensive.

The Extreme Penetrator has some pretty basic machining done to it to make it a bullet that gives lots of extra penetration, which is useful for some calibers in some applications.

Neither has lead.
>>
>>33786162
>They're machined from copper barstock
Neat
>>
>>33786099
Solid copper=retard velocity
The shape meanwhile causes a cavity like a hollowpoint while retaining FMJ penetration depths, if not further.

Good for any round with a reputation for underpenatration with hollowpoints like .380 or .45ACP

>>33786145
>Why should I pay more for hollowpoints?
>I can drill a hole in the middle of a round myself!
>>
>>33786162
No, it's just they gave them to us when we're in boot and DI's LOVE when recruits smack the shit out of them.
>>
>>33786130
Nah cunt, bullets, especially bullets out of low twist rate barrels don't rotate very much.
Their performance in ballistic gelatin hasn't been confirmed to translate to human flesh whatsoever. Their wound channel relies on hydraulic pressure squirting out gel that the bullet impacts. Human flesh most likely won't behave in this manner - I would definitely at least test this out while hunting before using this ammo.

>>33785933
>>33785978
>>33786059
>>33786185
fuck all u haters i edc a gen 2 glock 18 in .40 with R.I.P ammo
>>
>>33786252
>Their performance in ballistic gelatin hasn't been confirmed to translate to human flesh whatsoever
I think I saw some meat tests of these things and they were pretty legit.
>>
>>33786162
>the cavitation is most likely a meme
Then you might as well rely on FMJ. If you want hollow points whose mode of cavitation has actually been tested and proven, get hornady critical duty or xtp.
>>
>>33786261
oh rly , i do as well but i have cut off the trigger guard and carry it in my ass hole
>>
>>33786293
If this is true then that's pretty cool - especially since the whole hydraulic phenomena would probably be more effective in living rather than dead tissue
>>
>>33786333
I'm taking my glock 23 out boar hunting next month, Loading up with a variety of meme ammo. Will report back.

BTW: I'm hitting them with rifle first, not relying on fucking .40 to save me from a charging boar, lulz would be had.

Real question is... should I .22-250 the fuckers? I dont shoot enough yote, and my rifle is going unused.
>>
>>33785933
Really accurate actually

I've got the murdercube on my truck, does that count?

also I'll give AR15 owners a pass ONLY if they built their own rifles. and no, slapping an upper on a lower does not consist of building a rifle. glocks are ugly IMO, but they ARE a good starter handgun.

/k/ube stickers are okay since it's not something that's like "HEY I OWN GUNS EVERYONE".
>>
>>33786772
Someone should load a few and try it.
Sabot them or something if you have to, I'm just very interested in the terminal ballistics that something like this would be.

It would be like the XTP, but made of solid steel.
Sure it would eat your barrel up, but it would be cool.

>>33787188
It would be slightly lighter than one you didn't drill a hole into?

Unless you mean all the way through, in which case you would get a piece of lead a small distance down your barrel probably.

Would these rounds work on a vampire?

cheap and dirty hollowpoint, it'd probably expand and tumble a bit more.
