What is it about glock that makes it look so good? Is it its simplicity/simple looks?
>>

It doesn't look good. No.

All Glocks are shitty and you should suck-start your Glock if you own one.

I like Glocks a lot. I appreciate their simplicity, durability, ease of cleaning, and performance.

But that said I don't think they look particularly good.

So, I did this. And, then i cut the slide for a red dot. Then I added a blue tritium vial to the front sight, and white ones in the rear. my sights are red white and blue now.

Idk but I love the fuck out of my 26. Something about it, think it's the minimalism to it that I like. Very basic and functional. Between my 26 and 19 I love my 26 a lot more.

question: my next gun is gonna be a glock 34 or 35. Why should I get the .40 over the 9mm? I already have a 9mm, meaning I can just buy buttloads of 9mm and run it through both guns. Is there any reason to have a .40? not for self defense, just for target shooting.

because someone people prioritize function over aesthetics or aesthetics over function and both of those are subjective.

the glock is the volvo 240 of guns.
pretty revolutionary when it came, I guess they used some early cad software to design it, hence its square looks just like the volvo.

and now only old guys like hickok and kids like them, Kids pimp them up as much as they can with their cheap mods. again just like the volvo over here
>>
>>33781722

It's far from my favorite gun but I think they look sexy as fuck

I like the minimalism and how the slide sparkles if you give the outer slide a very light coat of CLP. I like the way they look when they're worn too.

Gen 2s are the best looking imo.

>physically impossible to use the standard slide release while holding the gun

Why the fuck did they even bother with trying to make the gun more leftie-firendly if they won't adress the most important issue? I don't get it. It makes no sense.
>>
>>33784188
you can always rack the slide instead of using the release
>>
>>33784200
I know, I prefer the method anyways. That's not the point.

The point is this is the single most important aspect of making the gun fully operable for lefties. I just don't see why they even bothered to do something if they are not going to do it right.

>the most important issue
>slide release

lrn2 manual of arms you shit stain. it's not a slide release. to release the slide, you are supposed to slingshot the slide. the tab innaglock is a slide catch which is accessible from the outside in order to be able adress a malfunction should it occur. it might as well be all internal - which is something I would have prefered.

fucking noguns.

>>33784241

>>
>>33784244
See >>33784228 and trying being less retarded in the future.

>it might as well be all internal
But it's not, precisely because it's meant to be used as a release if you prefer to use it that way. I'm not saying it's a better method. I'm saying they failed to adress the only thing that can be an issue for left handed users.

But it's not, see >>33784244 and "trying" reading with comprehension.
>>
>>33784345
If it wasn't meant to be used it wouldn't be external.

I'm not discussing which technique is better, it's irrelevant here. Even adressing malfunctions with the standard release is far less convenient for left handed users, the mag release is a non-issue compared to that. The change makes no sense whatsoever. You are just arguing for the sake of arguing.
>>
>>33781722
The Glock is the Great White Shark of guns, it has evolved into the perfect handgun, it goes bang every time, has a stupid simple manual of arms, and can be stripped down by downs syndrome kid. The only protests against Glock are subjective.

If a glock is aestgetically pleasing to you please end your life. It was designed as a tool. A simple machine meant to function in most conditions. Looks were litterally the last thing considered if they ever were at all.
>>
>>33784455
What part of

>Even adressing malfunctions with the standard release is far less convenient for left handed users

did you not understand?
>>
>>33781722
Glocks are not that great honestly. With that said, they do have more aftermarket parts. Now this is important, because you can configure it to your liking & more spare parts are available.

Now my main carry a Taurus PT809c is the best 9mm I've ever had. Friends have offered to buy it off me for $500. No FTF or FTE. I cannot find parts to save my life. I have to buy another 809c just to get more magazines. This is where Glock shines. More parts, more options, more configurations.
>>
>>33784435
>it goes bang every time
Unless you hold it wrong. Glocks are know to be prone to limp wristing, more than any other polymer striker fired handgun.

>inb4 hold the gun right
Have fun getting killed in a self-defense situation where you can't always afford to hold the gun right.

>Glocks are know to be prone to limp wristing, more than any other polymer striker fired handgun.

Maybe if you're a child or something. My GF, who barely weighed 100 lbs at the time, had zero trouble shooting her 9mm glock or my model 20. Granted she knew a proper grip but it's not like you have to be a bodybuilder to avoid limp-wristing one.

>>33785857
Function can totally be subjective. Take for example, the infinite 9mm/.556 vs .45/.308 debates. Or perhaps the AR v AK debates. Everything has trade-offs, and people differ in how much they value certain aspects of things, thus function can very much be subjective.

>>33782338
glock has the after market
sig has the changeable trigger system, but those are actually pretty expensive so you might as well just buy a second pistol
the VP9 has the best ergonomics out of them all, but no after market

get the glock as the base, then buy one or the other one after that
