It's this sufficient for self defense?

>better than nothing
it'd still be loud-ish and painful enough to send a non drugged out person running
not likely to end up in a fatality though, just a bit better than a modern pellet gun, but maybe not even that good with a short barrel like that

Probably not.

Smallest I'd carry is .32 ACP and even then I'd feel underarmed. .380 ACP, .38 Special, 9mm Makarov, 9mm Parabellum, .357 Mag, .40 S&W, .45 ACP are the kinds of rounds you want a carry gun to be chambered for. If you want to go oddball to feel special maybe 7.62 Tokarev, .327 Fed. mag, .357 Sig, or 10mm Auto.

Maybe your attacker will die of an infection?
>>

Probably kill them of you shot them in the temple.

The bigger question is why? Sure a 22 can be effective if employed properly and shot accurately, but its by far and away inferior to a 380 or a 9mm. If the size is what your concerned about many of the small 380s are effectively as small as the NAA revolvers. If price is the issue the ruger LCP can be had for sub $200 and the MP Bodyguard can be found sub $300. The NAA revolvers if I remember correctly sit around $250. Also a single action revolver is very difficult to shoot in a high stress situation and carries more risk of an ND than a double action such as the Smith MP. 22 Has its uses but unless you have some very weird specific need it can only fulfill you would be better off with something more powerful.
>>
this is a direct violation of the rule "never do an enemy a small injury"
>>
depends. I bet if you got one of those boxes of 100 rounds and put it in a sock you could beat someone pretty badly.
>>
>>33780896
Literally why would you carry that. If you trust yourself to put a shot in both eyes, or a major artery, or somewhere else that will bleed profusely, then you're fine, but I doubt that you can do that consistently.
>>
>>33781093
meant for OP not you lol
>>
>>33781093
I wouldn't. But I can still have an opinion on it since that's what OP asked, not about other calibers or guns.
>>
>>33781108
woops, replied too fast to you too
>>
>>33781064
I'm going to write this one down.
