Nope. I only OWB carry mine in Winter under a jacket.

Just got mine back from the gunsmith this morning. Started out as a Springfield Mil-Spec. Got the hammer, grip safety, and sight switched out a while back. I just had him checker the grip, undercut the trigger-guard, and cerakote the whole thing.

Start replacing those MIM parts man. That's the real kicker.

So this guy at the gun shop was the head gunsmith at detonics.
It's safe to say I'll be selling my glock 19 and picking up a 1911 for him to tune
I'm talking Peter Dunn, head of detonics. The one that built Stanley Kubricks guns and basically gave Detonics their name

I'm not particularly concerned. I plan on treating the remaining MIM parts like I do most parts on my guns: Replace as they wear to the point of failure, if they ever do.

so this here is the springfield armory 1911 combat operator.
>grey armory kote
>front strap checkering
>fiber optic front sight, blacked out rear
>rail

its essentially the same as the TRP minus an ambi safety and a magwell, but i prefer the aesthetics as well as the sights on the combat operator over the TRP.

The colt combat unit also comes in at the same price with the same features as the Springfield armory combat operator but its not lulz omg brazil meme.

which one should i buy and why?

which one would you buy, if you had to choose between the TRP, combat operator from springfield or the combat unit from colt?

combat operator and combat unit are roughly $1350

TRPs i have been finding are around $1500

Nice bait, but everyone knows NM-stamped Springers post 2014 are all made in the USA. Go ahead, lift up your grip panels and search for any signs of Huehues
>>
>>33786294
Springers are Series 70 guns and Colts unless specified are Series 80. It doesn't make a difference in terms of reliability, but for parts, it might.

I like Colt because of the name, but Springfield tends to be cheaper. I'd go with the Colt personally.

But honestly? Buy a base-line 1911 from a good company and fit the parts yourself. Why? Because every 1911 out there uses MIM parts, and while it's not a huge deal, $1400-$2000 per gun should get you nothing but forged and machined; companies are ripping you off with that price tag.

Raven concealment Vanguard 3. Clips onto the Surefire and works with any other gun.
>>
>>33786614
Don't do this

I have one for TLR1 on Glock 17

It functions as a holster and that is about it

It offers zero support for the gun, the gun is free to move about as it pleases with regards to grip sticking out, doesn't keep it tight to the body etc this is with various belts and playing around with ride height

Armordillo offers much better retention, and a little less rotational problems

I would see if GCode has anything

For a 1911 you are going to want 2 belt clips at least, maybe some trex Arms style hooks as well to push on belt toward your body

A local smith here in NC. Does great work, yet somehow isn't 1,000 years old.
