I don't know if I can bring myself to do this.

I hate Ruger, and S&W seems to lack the aesthetics I like, and Colt's a bit too expensive for my taste.
If I got one would I be disappointed as someone who has a revolver thing but hates France?

Are there, say, Belgian versions I could get?
>>

never even heard of the Manurhin until I heard of it on /k/. I would unironically buy one of these, and I don't own any revolvers.

I've got a Manurhin story
>stop at lgs to buy ammo
>start talking to owner
>mention that I want to buy a .357 eventually
>"Check this out" owner says
>walks in back brings back box
>"some guy bought a storage locker and this was inside and sold it to me"
>cardboard box has 3 beat to shit Manurhin Mr 73 revolvers inside plus some other shit, Raven, jennings, hi point shit
>broke ass college student
>I've been a loyal customer so he offers me one for $500 (not sure he knew what he had)
>have $400 in bank account getting paid in three days
>come back three days later
>Some guy bought all three.

If I had a time machine the first thing I would do is go back and trade my glock plus the $400 I had for it.

Frog here, nope. the cylinder is a gun. even if it wasn't, french export laws regarding firearms and firearms parts would make that extremely difficult for them, if not impossible.

The French get a lot of shit, especially after their complete capitulation during WW2, but always remember, The States owe their existence, at least in part, to the French. They helped us win the war with ships, supplies, and strategy. Not to mention they were an empire that rivaled great Britain and Spain. The French now are a shadow of what they once were, and I long to see them grow to fill the shoes they once wore.

Got a MR22.
Really accurate, fun to shoot, great ergonomics.
I shot a Korth 22 on monday and while it might be slightly more accurate, the Manurhin has it beat on every other aspect except *maybe* the finish.
The trigger is really something, completly different from a Colt or S&W.

Also: If the murrican who keeps snagging away Manurhins from german auction sites posts here: Stop nigga, you´ve got enough of them already!

A Smith wishes it was a well finished and indestructible as a Manurhin. The Frenchies build these because their Smiths couldn't stand a daily menu of 150 rounds of full power munition for more than a year.
Meanwhile there's an MR73 in the company museum which has had over 96,000 rounds through it and is still in acceptable working order.

>irrational
Fuck you.
It's perfectly rational to be both angry and sad that something you I've loved or that was once great is desecrated and destroyed, a husk of it's former self.
You sir, are the troll.

And i'm not judging them based off of WW2, I'm basing them off of everything since.
Having had most fighting age males killed off in WW1, they went into WW2 already hurting, and then obviously had even more killed off.

In essence, kinda like Germany, they simply got all the manliness killed out of them leaving only idiots and pansies.
It's kinda like how a lot of bad rep from Vietnam came from draft dodgers calling the war stupid.

They were an okay country way back in the day.
But not any more, and that is a legit reason to dislike them.

>>33777210
The Manurhin you saw was likely one of the surplus ones imported by Century that were, as a whole, in pretty terrible condition. Some of the people who bought those got a great gun with finish wear; many more people who bought those guns got a gun with timing issues, worn-out internals, or other problems that rendered the gun unsafe or inoperable unless you were willing to spend hundreds of dollars more to try and get it working. When you consider that you can buy a new revolver of good quality and durability for the same price as those old Manurhins of highly suspect condition, you might have actually dodged a bad purchase.

Well, aside from the various design tweaks - the details of which escape me at the moment - it's made of much better quality steel...making it as strong, if not stronger than the Ruger revolvers that are much more modern/wear-resistant design.

Previous noguns that just bought my first gun. I fucked up and bought a gun before asking /k/. Wanted to see what /k/ thinks of it. I'll be using it for home defense, maybe conceal carry at some point. A kimber k6s revolver. Is this a bad reliability/tiny noname brand?

Bought 38 special ammo in a "lite" home defense brand that the clerk said has less gunpowder/recoil, designed for women. Not sure if I'm being a baby and should just get regular 38 or 357 ammo. But I would like to cause as little hearing damage as possible if I ever have to use it. My room is small and it'd be loud as shit.
>>
>>33794423
It's still fairly new, but by nearly all accounts the K6s is a well made gun. No MIM internals, which already puts it ahead of a any J-frame made in the last 20 years - and there's that sixth shot...

Well Kimber has had a pretty awful reputation for quality control for more than a decade now. They got their reputation for quality from the (early) custom classic 1911. Everyone wanted one of those things back in the day. The k6 revolvers are relatively new, so I would test it vigorously before trusting my life with one.

Also short barrels make .357 ballistics suck unless you get the specially formulated rounds for short barrels.

Modern pistols have a lot less issues than they had back when the Manurhin was introduced.

I know some units still use MR 73/MR 88 for at the range, tho. Even if Chapuis quality control isn't up to par with the old Manurhin production line, it seems they still manage to make sufficiently resilient guns.

S&W 69
5 shots of .44 Magnum in a package that's light enough to carry all day but not so light that you need special gloves to protect your hands from the recoil or to worry about heavy loads inadvertently activating the internal lock.

its fine, but its worse than forging

When well executed MIM is merely ADEQUATE. An MIM part will never be as durable as a forged or even investment cast part of comparable quality. Which is why it's hilarious to see the forged vs. cast argument come up so fucking much in 2017 in revolver threads when those soft forged-framed S&W's have all MIM internals...
>>
>>33805243
There's a point of diminishing returns on the revolver price/quality graph and the Korth is clearly past it.
It's arguably slightly better than the Manurhin in certain respects, like finish, but you can get any MR73 you want for $3000 and Korth Combat Magnums start at $5000.

Cite one instance of a MIM revolver part breaking under circumstances that wouldn't also have caused an equivalent forged part to fail in the same way.

Looks well built, and useful if you shoot a lot of bears. But hardly a match for the MR73.

I wish there was a 44 mag mr73

Part breakage will occur if theres a production defect.

MIM guns are designed around MIM parts, same with forged.
the thing is that you can have lighter and stronger parts with forgings.

but to answer your question, I think MIM firing pins breaks more often than forged firing pins.
another thing is that MIM parts usually have more and larger cavities than cast or forged steel. giving highly stressed part a shorter lifespan

That would be neat.

Firing pins are a fucking awful application for this process...

do they not have 38 spc where you live?

.38 SPL is typically around 10cpr more expensive than equivalent 9mm loads, e.g.

ok, show me on the picture, which physical part of the gun is the price?

The Korth may have less bang for the buck as it were, and I'm not really dissing the MR73, but there it is. Korth is objectively better, but you'll have to spend twice the money to get one.

>>33805243
It's better, in a way that only being OCD about the tiniest detail can make it.

The craftsmanship in the Korth is something from another galaxy, and it has a price to match.

And many people can't justify spending 5k+ on a wheelgun (iirc, Korth's guns are all listed as POD). It's like a holy grail gun for many shooters - they'll never get it but man wouldn't it be sweet to have one.

How far can you reach out to touch someone with .357 Magnum?

same reason it has a € on it

That would be determined either by the lower limit of the bullet's expansion window or by the point at which the bullet is destabilized by the subsonic transition.
