Proper ones are DDs and almost impossible to get even as a registered DD. Their are fake airsoft ones but they are toys

Federally legal. Illegal by most states. Impossible to find either way. The only ones I ever find are old 37mm tear gas rounds. They are old and expensive. As for actual throwable cs gas, literally unontaniam as near as I can tell.

Your options are smoke (gay) or clear/out type products, which are more like pepper spray bug bombs. I hear they work great in cell extractions or other confined spaces, but pretty weak out doors.

It might be legal to make an organic capsaicin based smoke irritant, but you are walking a fine line re: "weapons of mass destruction"
