What was your first gun that you ever bought? Why did you buy it?

Pic related, Good all around gun, used to shoot a lot of clay and it was great for it.... didn't know that Remington kinda went down the tubes till I had it for a while and always had trouble with it rusting.

>What was your first gun that you ever bought?
Wincester 30-30
>Why did you buy it?
because my first hunting was with fudds
>>
>>33773538
>First Gun
A 91/59 Mosin
>Why
Because it wasn't too expensive, in good condition, and has historical value and will most likely only go up in value.
>>
>>33773697
>A 91/59 Mosin
>>Why
because you fell for the meme
>>
>>33773606
Do you not like the .30-30?
>>
>>33773793
yep still have it. fun as hell to shoot. only wish i also had one in a pistol caliber like .357
>>
>>33773812
Sweet! What do you mean hunting with fudds? Do you not deer hunt with it now?
>>
>>33773837
my first time i ever went hunting / shooting was with some old-timers. good guys, but probably fit 4chans typical definition of fudd.
they all insisted if i was going to start hunting i had to have a 30-30 winchester. 20+ years later still love it. one of my favourite guns to this day
i don't really hunt anymore but still take it to the range once in awhile.
>>
>>33773538
I bought an old used 870 recently. i love it. that classic old wood furniture is the best
>>
My first rifle was a short Spanish 1916 mauser in .308, or 7.62 NATO, or 7.62 Cetme, or some other similar .30 cartridge. Maybe?

After the fact, in trying to find out exactly what kind of Mauser I had bought, I encountered a lot of shit flinging back and forth about how they had been converted from 7mm mauser, this and that about chamber pressures, weather or not different loadings for commercial vs military rounds were safe, and then a lot of pictures of blown up rifles.

I'm not sure what's right, but after I got it, I had a great time plinking with it using milsurp ammo, and even shot it in a bolt gun service rifle high power match, to qualify for a CMP Garand, but now it mostly hangs out in the back of my gun safe, poor thing.

Smith and Wesson 22a, wanted to learn how to shoot pistols, it was very cheap at LGS. Sold it a couple years ago to get a Ruger MK3 to be a suppressor host. No regrets.

>first gun
Beretta Cx4 from Classic
>why
Because the first gun I ever shot was a range rental Cx4 and I wanted my own. It's a fun little plinking gun.
>>
>>33773538
that exact gun, 28", but long before the Cerberus models. Used for hunting and clays, if I still did either I would have kept it.

>First gun
Pic related, Ruger M77 Scout
>Why
Because I know I don't have the experience to outshoot a .308 carbine, and they make em with left-handed bolts. Plus I read too much about the scout rifle concept and fell in love.

same here , 94 Ranger in fuddy-fuddy

picked up a consignment at LGS for $200 when I was 18. Reliably puts jerky on the table every year I had time to get tags in southcentral Virginia.

Still is probably my favorite in the stable. Not the best, but favorite due to memories.

Also love my tree rat eradicator Ruger. 96/22. Not shown is Prostaff 3-9 x 40
>>
Remington 870 express in 2008 before people noticed they went to shit.

It rusted to absolute fuck, literally looked spraypainted orange, even though i oiled the he'll put of it. So, I did a fucking shit duracoat job on it (This was before rattlecans of it were a thing, spent like $80 on an air compresser/airbrush, RIP) and tacticooled the fuck out of it with too folding stock, light, laser, barrel shroud, etc.

Many years later I looked upon it with disgust, swapped it back to its original configuration, and have since enjoyed it as it functions just fine. It's got history, and I appreciate that.

colt commander nrm, loved guns as a kid - always wanted a pistol. why? because I wanted to learn about the internals and they provide a pretty good learning experience

Mine was just a year or two ago. It was a mosin nagant, right when the prices started going up. I liked guns at the time, but hadn't been enlightened about the world of guns or military surplus. Upon looking into that stuff, I knew I needed a nagant. the final cost for it, including the handpick and FFL transfer was $230-$240. It is still my favorite gun to shoot out of my bunch next to my scoped .17HMR.
I like mine wrapped in burlap because it keeps it from getting dinged up, somehow dampens the recoil and gives a more comfortable plaform, and because I want to

Because I got it for a good price from a friend, and I'd always wanted a 1911 since I was 6.

>What was your first gun that you ever bought?

I dont actually remember
I believe it was either a 20 gauge 870 youth model, or a Savage 93 in 22 Mag.

>why
Because I already had access to my fathers guns, a few 22lrs and 12 gauges and would go squirrel hunting with them so just for variety.

The 20 gauge youth was actually super fun to play around with at the range.

>>33773538

AK74

Because an acquaintance of mine had money issues and sold me one.
>>
>First one bought?

600AT 12ga New Haven (by Mossberg)

>Why?

I had just turned 18 so I was eager to jump straight into my 2A rights and go shooting with my friends. I was given a .22lr before I bought the shotgun though, it was a Sako Finnfire p94s, still have it, still use it, and it still shoots well.
>>
Savage 320. Still a solid shot gun. Heard some issues with the barrel going all banana like, but never had that.

Currently default trunk gun in case of an emergency that my CC cant handle. Mix of slugs, PDX, OO buck and some bird for good measure.
