I put this together about a month ago, TN polymer lower while I wait for my Nodak to come in (I have an A1 grip, its just not on right now). I'm hoping to take this to the range finally sometime next week. I'm feeling a little paranoid that I might have forgotten something during assembly of the upper, anything you would suggest I double check just for autistic paranoia's sake? I used one of the parts kits from Whatacountry to assemble it. (although the lower was assembled awhile ago off of a random cheap lower kit, I'm saving the original lower parts for the nodak)

Yep, gas block should be gtg, I'm more worried about the bolt. Vet co-worker told me about how if it was assembled wrong it would dump the whole mag. I haven't dissembled it 100%, but playing around with it, it seemed like the firing pin was in right and all that.

Thanks for the replies gents, I was leaning towards 556 anyway. As far as what I want to do with the muzzle device, I guess the best option would be to get something that will reduce noise and flash since I imagine it will be a lot brighter and louder than out of a 16" barrel. So a suppressor and qd flash hider mount I suppose?

whatever the short 5.56 suppressor is that surefire makes
they're effective for removing a lot of the sound, flash, blast, etc you get from the gasses leaving the barrel. they often times make it "hearing safe" to shoot.
That may not be the case with your particular SBR due to the amount of un-burnt gasses from the shorter barrel. It will definitely make it quieter and more pleasant to shoot/ be around though

i get the feeling you just hopped into arg for the first time today. the 2.5-10x24 pops up on block II's from time to time and is one of the issued optics for mk12's so yes it has a designation

With the new found clarity on shouldering a brace I've decided to build a pistol when i send my sbr stamp off to hold myself over.
