Not that easy. Need to get a receiver that has never had a stock on it. Then swap parts over and get new 14in front end. Just wondering if anyone here has done it before.

What? They sell Mossberg 500s with the stock on them and a pistol grip in the box in case you want to switch. Shotguns don't need a stock as long as they meet a certain overall length or whatever.

The atf makes a big deal about the firearm having a stock on it. If it has ever had a stock on it you can't cut it down under 18.5.

The thing that the atf hasn't mentioned is the shotguns like you mentioned that come with both from the factory.

to make this a non nfa gun, 14ish barrel. the receiver cannot ever have had a stock on it so it can never have been classified as a longgun. So this can be either a SBS or an AOF depending on if its had a stock on it at one point

I bought a new Mossberg Cruiser and ordered the 14" front assembly directly from Mossberg. They sell them new from the factory in that configuration now so that may be the way to go.

That's what I was thinking. Seen some receivers in gunbroker but they're used and idk if they came from pgo or regular shotty. The parts shotgun I have was inherited and in rough shape and not really worth repairing.

its pretty hard to get a virgin 500 or 870 receiver most ones you find for sale will be from guns that were parted out.
its going to be a fuckload easier just to buy the shockwave

You're right but that takes the fun of out of it. One of the main reasons I want to do it is bc I love tinkering with guns.

But the raptor grip is the only comfortable way to shoot so i just use the >>33765286 configuration anyways
Which means all of that wait time and paperwork was meaningless
