get the sausage rolls and meat pies out fellas.
Like a Greek myth it flew to close to the sun
And its cockpit filled with smoke
And now they have forever clipped its wings
>>33757921
wait what
>>33757921
What will the replacement be Aussies?
>>33757927
Emergency landings with smoke filling the cockpit
After 10 years delay and 2 billion dollars wasted the ARH Tiger is joining the Super Seasprite in being put out to pasture as too difficult too delayed too overpriced and will be retired in the early 2020s

They are thinking of something else lighter maybe unmanned maybe not. So basically they don't know.
Also the special forces are getting their own helicopters capable of light transport and armed support - sounds like Hughes 500
>>33757934
Either Super Cobras or Apaches; my bet is on Super Cobras.
>>33757958
Why?
They're only used by the marines to make themselves feel special and unique
>>33757886
Shame that both of the LHD's are fucked ATM, good going maintenance crew.
>>33757966
Because Super Cobras are designed for maritime operations; they won't corrode as badly as Apaches, which is useful seeing as these will get used near coastlines and off of LHDs occasionally.
>>33757958
>>33757966
British modified their Apaches to operate from the HMS Ocean
>>33757977
What went wrong?
>>33758042
See >>33758047
The army Blackhawks and Chinooks would have similar modifications and so to the Tiger as it was intended to do the same thing, and the French used them from carriers in Libya
>>33758053
Wrong oil.

How and why
