Depends on the squad and the administration that commands them. Some are professionals, others are meh. Same goes with the equipment issued. I know there's a fellow BOPE officer with the trip BRMilitaryCop !!FChR9pCRDX1. Last I check he makes a thread every two-three months where we all asks questions regarding the situation in Brazil, how they handle stuff and for some cool accounts as over his experience as a BOPE Officer. You should put the trip in the archive and search for them, quality stuff

Tbh, we're not so much different other than:
1.) We're a militarized police force but not a military police organization, that's what the National Guard is for when assisting patrols and raids (They don't attend investigations)

2.) While we're still in a crime wave, its not as intense as it was in the 90s and its not as comparable as Brazil due to the lower population

3.) The only thing comparable to favelas are project homes, shanty towns, and La Perla

Except BRMilitaryCop is in another state. He does general patrolling and answering to calls and stuff, while BOPE (or his state equivalent, BOE) is special forces, like SWAT.
