How are you Liking Your Rough rider anon?
>>
I want one for about a hunnid bux
>>
Mines been great except for onevthing. Watch the screw that holds on the shell extractor. It came out and lost itself in the bushes.

Happy ending though. Got insurance for 10 bucks when i got it from gander mountain. Sent it off andbit came back with a trigger/hammer job. Crispest trigger of any $170 gun ive shot.
>>
>>33753384
Got mine for $100 out the door new, its a fun little gun to walk out on the deck and plink with. Also got the .22 magnum cylinder for it.
>>
>>33753384
rather have a blackhawk
>>
>>33753384
Sights are a shit, but I rather like mine. I wish I would have gotten that adjustable sight version.

Also I have barely used the .22 mag cylinder.
>>
>>33753415
I took the shell ejector off mine. Realy doesn't Serve Much Purpose. The shells Get stuck in The wheel But Other then That i love it.
>>
>>33753433
Pretty much the same Gun. Black Hawk grips will Fit It.
>>
>>33753384
I like mine a lot. I've had it for seven years and it's still going strong. "Dead Man's Hand" edition (don't laugh)
>>33753444

>Realy doesn't Serve Much Purpose

That is EXACTLY it's purpose you retard.
>>
>>33753649
The shells won't come out if you use the ejector (at least for me)
>>
>>33753673
this is where you contact the manufacturer and request it to be fixed.

>>

True.
>>

What is this? I have a huge boner for birds head small revolvers. I nearly impulse bought a Ruger bearcat like that but it was just too expensive.

High Standard Double Nine "Natchez"

The Natchez is the birdshead. Standard ones looked like this.
>>
>>33753751
Beautiful! Looking these up now hopefully they are cheap and nice.
>>
>>33753816
Depends on what you call cheap
>>
>>33753820
Like 200 maybe.

Looks like they're more than that and all used

>>
I got one as a gift. It's fun! And handy!
>>
>>33753415
If you have an Atwoods locally, they are on sale for $99
>>
>my fucking face when I found out that these are banned in Illinois

>mfw I also realized that black powder guns require an FFL transfer in Illinois

>mfw pellet guns over .177 or over 600fps are considered firearms and have to be transferred through an FFL

I can't wait to leave this absolute stinking shithole of a state.
>>
>>33754228
Are you shooting with 2 hands and how are you using the sights?
>>
>>33754259
I do not. I have very few things locally.
>>
I really like mine. had a guy do some custom grips for it, and it's a little tack driver. For sure worth the 120 bucks i paid
>>
>>33754265
>.177 over 600 fps is a firearm

That's like fucking nothing

Fuck Illinois
>>
>>33754265
>be in Georgia
>grandpas friend give me and a bunch of other people muzzleloaders because he impulse bought like 6 on sale
>buy gamo silent stalker by myself at 15
Just buy a black powder firearm in a neighboring state. Get a conversion cylinder if you're so inclined.
>>
I want one but I'll probably wait for either July 4 sales or Black Friday. I'd like to be able to purchase one locally if possible, been going to my ffl too much lately and it's a huge pain in the ass.
>>
>>33754285
Yeah, I'm shooting with two hands. It's hard to get a solid sight alignment with the back sights, or lackthereof.

Is dovetailing a set of adjustables onto a Rough Rider a thing that's worth doing?
>>
>>33754503
No. Use one hand. Stop aiming, just point it at what you want to shoot.
>>
First handgun i ever had.

Cylinder hand spring gave out on me after i played with it too much. Ended up replacing it myself prom night at 4 am. Lota memories in this gun. Only gun i would take into just about any situation i will ever find myself in.

When i'm scared of the world it's my lullaby at night. One draw of the hammer and i can put a bullet anywhere. Decock the hammer and everything resets. It's beautiful.
>>
>>33754045
>and all used
Yeah, they don't make them any more
>>
>>33753384
Just bought one but I haven't got out to plink with it yet. It feels way better than I expected for a $125 gun.

I fucking love mine. Got it for $120. I can take powderless .22lr rounds and shoot them innacity limits.

I bring it on every shooting trip I take. Sure, it's not the fanciest thing out there -- but it's not trying to be! Humble little wheelgat you don't have to worry about and is faithful every time.
>Here's mine when it was still a virgin, just bought it.
>>
>>33754045

I JUST got one a couple months ago for $130, with tax.
>>
what's a decent .367 mag SSA clone?
>>
>>33753384
I love this little firecracker. Got mine for $130 out the door but, I live in Seattle so that is pretty good.

I love to plink it and take it on every camping trip i go on. super reliable and fun. nothing to look at but, it doesnt care to be.
>>
>>33755094
A double nine? You did good.
>>
I absolutely love it.

It's not a new design by any definition, but it is a nice gun that has never given me any issues. You are paying for the materials at the end of the day, they took a design with an expired patent and started cranking them out, but they did it well.

It's ideal for plinking and an ok snake gun (my friend shot a garden snake with it) if you don't mind being slow.

Its a quality firearm, it's not as good as a ruger single six, but ruger is asking $700 and heritage is asking $175 so you do the math.

Overall it is an amazing handgun for the money and frankly, even if they charged $300'i would still say it would be a great deal.

4/5
>>
I just want a double action version for a comparable price. Only DA 22lrs I can find in my area are 450+ dollars; haven't seen any used ones around; no luck on auction sites over the past 6 months everything I've found turns into a bidding war until reasonable ones are 300 bucks and up when they aren't even worth that. Why do manufacturers discontinue good things :^(
>>
The shill is strong in this thread. I had no idea rough rider had internet shills on its payroll.

I want an H&R 999, they're getting kinda pricey though.
>>
I just bought a nice H&R 999 on gunbroker from a pawn shop in Vegas just last month, got it for 160 delivered. Made in 1948 and still in excellent shape. They aren't that hard to find. I'm still looking for the High Standard 9 shot branded Western Auto for my collection.

where can you get those at? their website doesn't list them separate from the gun
>>
>>33755612
I see a Taurus model 94 from time to time on armslist and I have one I bought on armslist for $250
>>
>>33759894
A rossi r94 should go for about the same but are rare as hell
>>
>>33755635
>implying heritage can afford shills
>>
>>33759879
Mine came with a mail-in thing in the box. It was like $20 for it if I remember right.
>>
>>33759848
You got lucky! The cheapest I've seen is $300+. I'm a little salty I missed yours!
I found a 930 on armslist for 350. I might get that if I can ((...)) him down a little.
>>
>>33761757
look on gun trader right now. they have some going for around 107 without tax and shipping.
>>
>>33753384
>>33753449
What's up with your capitalization?
>>
>>33753384
literally exploded

potmetal top strap snapped while firing
>>
Any commiefags here? I heard pricing Rough riders costing close to 200 over there. Seems like a ripoff haha.
>>
>>33762311
literal commies or make believe ones?
I got mine in CA for $100 before DROS and tax
>>
>>33762311
They can, depending on the model. Long barrel is more, 10 shot is more, with spare cylinder is more, etc.

The absolute basic bitch model can go as low as $110 or so though. At least until you remember that you live in CA and have to spread your anus for the tax.
>>
>>33762330
>>33762352
Yall answered my question.
shameful state of affairs yall are having to deal with over there. Especially the AR15 related crap too.
>>
Got mine for a hundred plus transfer. Might be the best cost-to-firearm ratio I've ever scored. Great little plinker, and a good sidearm for small game hunting in case Mister Raccoon gets fighty.
>>
Aren't these made in Brazil?
>>
Sure it's more expensive, but I prefer my hand-me-down Colt Frontier Scout in 22lr that my dad gave to me before he passed. Made in 1962. Ill see if I can find a pic of it.
>>
Was going to buy one a few months ago, then found out Minnesota has low melting point guns banned
>>
>>33762411
Once Gorsuch made it to the Supreme Court the NRA and CRPA filed a lawsuit against the state for the atrocity that was the gunpocolypse. It will be a long fight but at least we are fighting.
>>
i got a rough rider for $119 on sale but i had to rebate it havent fired it yet should i clean it after every use when i do ?
>>
>>33759894
>>33760176
I've seen these around but never for that low. There's a couple Taurus 94s but they're 400 atm
>>
>>33763420
Manual just says to clean the cylinder and barrel after shooting. Depending on the cleanliness of the ammo I sometimes bore snake it on the range.
>>
>>33755635
It's almost as if a sub $150 .22 is popular. Imagine that
>>
>>33753384
It stretches me out to my max, but all in all it feels great.
Would reccommend.
>>
>>33754265
This guy is full of shit. I just got back from the local Rural Kangz and they not only had no less than 4 of these in the display but also a slew of pneumatic airguns over 1000 fps on a shelf. What the fuck county you live in?

t. Macon County

>>
>>33766738
Yeah I get it but the wording was all similar and they said all essentially the same thing.
>>
>>33768587
It's a $100 .22lr revolver. As simple as simple can get. There isn't much to honestly say.
>>
>>33767067
Most of the Rough Riders have a zinc alloy frame (that's why they're so cheap) and does not meet Illinois's 'melting point' laws.

Here's the legal-ese if you want to sift through it. It's under section h: http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/fulltext.asp?DocName=072000050K24-3

Heritage makes a Rough Rider with a steel frame, but it's almost $100 more than the zinc one that everyone here is talking about.

It's a statewide thing, so if your guy is truly selling the zinc frame ones, then he can kiss his ass good-bye.

Anything over .18 caliber or 800fps is considered a firearm and must be transferred by an FFL. Source: http://smartgunlaws.org/category/state-non-powder-guns/page/2/

Illinois is one of the shittiest states in the USA.
