you feel pain lots of heat and extreme bruising type feeling
you pass out
then the amberlance comes and stay in hospital for a week due to gut wound

your friend then brings chocolates and flowers and gets you a card and everyhing is okay eventually but you never go shooting with another person ever again and now have a irrational fear of guns despite it being a hobby

My TC got winged during a drive-by, only realized after someone else saw blood on his uniform.

Another guy in my platoon on a previous tour, had a guy in his company fall dead in their compound after a patrol, not realizing he had been shot, and was bleeding internally.

Wtf do you get shot by that has enough energy to cause internal bleeding but not enough punch to just go through the armor. Only thing that comes to mind is shotgun slugs or a musket.

pretty sure the bullet went through or around the armor anon. also you might be surprised a lot of rounds can cause minor or moderate blunt force trauma, placed just right(over kidney or spleen) they might even cause internal bleeding.

The round probably went through one side but didn't exit. That in combination with the extreme adrenaline dump of being shot at means people get badly wounded sometimes without realizing it. It's why you'll hear about people being told to check themselves and others for wounds.
