I'm looking for a ~$500 mini 14. Does that deal exist anywhere?

Pawn shops (you can can always get a lower price if you pay in cash), auction websites, or maybe the last day at a gun show when sellers are eager to get rid of merch

You could find an old 180 series rifle for like $300 but they have mediocre accuracy from a cold bore, and substandard accuracy once the gun gets warm (which doesn't take much shooting). Accuracy can be somewhat remedied by attaching an AccuStrut, but it makes the rifle heavier, it costs money, and a later 580(+) series Mini-14 will still outshoot it.

The lowest I've seen a brand new Mini-14 go for is about $600, but you might be able to find a used one for less. Just be sure if it's a 180 or a 580/581 series rifle.

The SKS was a meme because they seriously were like $99 at one point, and was like $200 just 10 years ago, on top of the ammo always being dirt cheap.

So it was an extremely appealing choice for poorfags and people looking to dip their toes into the hobby.

I sold my 583 mini on armslist for basically that much. I fot 750 for it bc i had 10 30rd mags with it tho.

I got a 183 for 500 even at adventure outdoors.

Fellow Mini 14 owner here: this.

I love my Mini 14 ranch rifle, it's fun to shoot, it has sentimental value (out of the guns I bought it was the one my dad liked the most because of the A-Team), and it's a good rifle.

But Minis are really $4-500 guns that are MSRP for $700-750. With the influx of decent $500 ARs lately the Mini should really be a $3-400 rifle. But Ruger will never sell them at that price.
