Anyone else check out the FK BRNO 7.5 field pistol? It is one hell of a handgun for sure. But the potential price and cost of ammo make it not worth it, at least for now.

It is said to be 1 MOA in terms of accuracy at 100M, hits like a .44 mag (even at that range), has the recoil of a .40 or .45, and handles a lot like a 1911. And it carries 16+1 rds.

There are test videos of them dropping deer with it at 75-100M as well. Very impressed with this gun in terms of performance and capabilities. But the rumors are that it will cost somewhere around the $7k mark. Which IMO is WAY to expensive for any handgun, even one as awesome as this.

It just makes me sad... being this expensive.

Time may drop the price

Yeah, I just don't feel like buying a handgun for close to the same price as a Berrett 50.

He packs a lot of heat in those pants apparently.

Stupid awesome gun. Hold on while I take out a second morgage on my house.

This. I make six figures and wouldn't even consider this thing. Not only is the gun overpriced, the round shreds barrels. No thanks.
>>
6 figure earners report in.

I just got 152k last year. I'm also not interested. I'd rather save up to buy rental properties so I can actually expect money when I retire.

No you didn't.
>>

Never heard is shredded barrels (in fact I have heard the opposite). But even so, the gun is stupidly overpriced.
>>
>>33747741
>$5000-7k pistol

doesnt matter how good it is. this shit is exactly what happens when you risk alot of money to develop a proprietary round in a weird pistol with a new recoil system, then fail to get any kind of govt. contract or sporting sponsors

I guess they didnt quite understand that the US mil was not looking for a good or pretty or practical pistol, they were looking for a cheap pistol that girls could use - hence the sig320
>>
>>33747768
>proprietary tokarev with 5000% markup
Lolnah
>>
>>33748223

Not gonna lie, this is more or less what I thought- a high powered, proprietary double stack Tokarev. I'd love to have one, but five grand in addition to- what was it, two bucks a round?- is definitely not appealing to me.

In a sort of related question, has anyone ever made a double stack pistol chambered in Tokarev? I'd honestly pay for something with the power of a Tokarev and the capacity of a CZ75.
>>
>There are test videos of them dropping deer with it at 75-100M as well
That's not really special and
>It is said to be 1 MOA in terms of accuracy at 100M
Would be special if anyone were actually capable of doing that without a machine rest
>>
>But the rumors are that it will cost somewhere around the $7k mark

Its alleged price seems to increase every time people talk about it.

That said, it's obvious that this gun is not being marketed towards anyone like you or me. It's a luxury item that's presumably trying to capture the attention of hardcore collectors/the kind of person who has both the means and volition to buy a H&H or Purdey.

Norinco makes a p226 clone in 7.62x25. Only in canada though.
>>
>>33748316
>power of a tokarev

Yes, any double stack 9mm including the cz75 you mentioned
>>
>1 MOA in terms of accuracy at 100M

you don't specify the range when you use MOA, fucktard, it's like saying "mpg per gallon" or something stupid like that. you say "1 MOA capable" or "1 inch groups at 100 yards capable".
>>
>>33748933
MOA can easily vary at different ranges though.
>>
>>33747741
Guys, I emailed the distributors. It's $9800 as a limited preorder price, extra mags are $300
>>
>>33748973
>I could literally buy a tokarev for the price of one mag
>>
>>33748950
no it doesn't, you fuck, it's a set angular measurement. 1/60th (hence, a MINUTE) of a degree (hence, ANGLE).

meaning it's just very slightly over 1" at 100 yards, or slightly over 2" at 200 yards.

with rifles, the rounds are usually traveling fast enough and have a high enough BC not to change too much at normal shooting distances, but with handguns, which i think is where you're messing up, their velocities and BC's are low enough that accuracy dispersal is higher, in which case, you wouldn't use MOA as a reference at 100+ yards, but "inch-groupings at xxx yards"

>>33748973
Yeah.
>>
>>33748987
What if you have a bullet that only maintains accuracy at certain speeds?
>>
>>33748987
Bullets have more complex behaviour than you seem to think, especially handgun bullets.
While a handgun might be easily capable of 1 MOA at 50 yards at 100 it is more likely to open up to higher MOA as the bullets are now slowing down and other forces showing greater effects onthem.
Likewise it's possible for a gun to group poorly at a closer range and better at longer range as again the bullet slows down and the forces acting on the bullet stabilise it.
People actually interested in precision always state their MOA and the distance it was measured at.
>>
>>33749019
>>33749036
did you faggots not read the last bit? BC stands for 'ballistic coefficient'. The point is, if your MOA 'changes' at different ranges, you're better at specifying 'x-inch groupings at y-yards" rather than saying "x-moa at y-yard, but y-moa at z-yards". MOA implies stability and linear projection out to multitudes of ranges, which, again, is why it's used moreso with rifles rather than handguns.
>>
>>33749087
BC is a drag function, it does not have anything to do with accuracy or precision.
When stating MOA at x it is assumed that at any distance less than x the MOA will be the same or smaller.
>>
>>33749133
except it does. BC and bullet velocity majorly factor into how much wind drift affects the velocity.

Handgun bullets are much slower, and have much worse BC's than rifle bullets.

http://gundata.org/blog/post/what-is-ballistic-coefficient/

hence, MOA is a shit measure for handguns, because they vary so greatly at the ranges you're talking.
>>
>>33747741
>$7500
They've literally priced themselves out of the US civilian market and the European civilian market.

If I want a high powered handgun, I'd get a Super Blackhawk, if I want a high powered automatic with a flat trajectory, I'll get a Desert Eagle in .44 Magnum and have the chamber reamed out for .440 CorBon, going through the effort of handloading for that cartridge and having the barrel done will still all be substantially under the cost of buying this fucking thing.
>>
>>33747741
>hits like a .44 mag
No, they said it had comparable energy to one, which isn't the same thing.

It will NOT perform like a .44 Magnum
>>
>>33748105
I think what he's referring to is that the bullet burns out at really high speeds, which is pretty much guaranteed to lead to barrel throat erosion.
>>
>>33747741
>1 MOA at 100M
I don't think you understand how MOA works.
>>
>>33749443
This.
>>
>>33748571

Only in Canada, huh? Well, such is the price I pay for being a burger. Whatever, I'll just stick with the CZ, then.
>>
>>33748316
Vietnam makes an indigenous double stack Tokarev

http://modernfirearms.net/handguns/hg/vietnam/k14vn-e.html
>>
>>33748933
actually you do
a rifle that shoots 1 MOA at 100 yards will not shoot 1 MOA at 200 due to effects like wind

specifying range is usually superfluous, but it can be an important factor
>>
>>33748933
You do when talking about cartridges. And many manufactures will give moa rating with distance for specific loads in their guns.
>>
>>33750038
>>>33748933

Damn, it'd be cool to get one of those. Even if I never use it outside of being arange toy, it'd be a nice, unique addition to a collection.
>>
>>33750038
I know! Norinco does too (a sig clone)

Last I heard we had finally stopped embargoing Vietnam, we should get some of those imported.

As for the 7.5 round.. if they offer conversion kits for CZ 75 kits it might get some market share. If not then this round will have even less traction than the FN 5.7 or the 6.5 CBJ.

7.62x25 don't need double stack when it easily penetrates level IIIa armour and a car door at 70m(steel helmet)
180$ tokarev 30 calibre @1800fps steel core surplus @19 cents

My gun shoots 1 MOA at 100 yards and 2 MOA at 200 yards, so it shoots 5,000,000 MOA at 500,000,000

Im going to give it a year or so to see if it lives up to the hype before I stary saving up
