Why did the Military replace the m-9 beretta?
>>33746895
Getting old, needed new pistols.
Design was dated, hence not a new contract.
>>33746895
Heavy
Too big for manlet hands
Cannot into DA/SA without more training
Glocks are cheap
>>33746895
p320 is more modular
>>33746903
The military really should of switched to XD's.
Way more reliable and simpler breakdown than a glock. Things are indestructible.
>>33746895
I'm just sad that all the new replacement candidates are striker fire guns
>>33746895
name one thing that the m9 does better
u cant
sig 4ever
>>33746895
Things wear out eventually. Not to mention replacement parts drying up.
>>33746968
and I thought the glock looks plastic
>>33746976
wut do u expect a polymer handgun to look like
>>33746986
this looks less plastic than the xm17
>>33746968
Why not make something that looks cool. Something that would look good if carried by a general or MP. This thing is functional and modular and that's great, I just wish we could have something that looks cooler but is just as functional and modular. This pistol is so cookie cutter 21st century railed flim flam. Not saying I wouldn't have made the same decision as the military did, however, I'd be bummed out about my options.
I don't even own a Beretta, but it's pretty simple to see how they got a bad rep.
Everyone who joined the military in the last 20 years has been using fucked up, fixed for the hundreth time, berettas.
I shot my friends custom Beretta and fell in love with that thing.

>Not to mention replacement parts drying up.
The M9 is still manufactured...
>>33746994
it looks like a clay sculpt design model but it's actually a final product
>>33747005
>it looks like a clay sculpt design model
will never unsee
>>33746968
but you know... a gun
>>33746994
who cares gives the generals the antiquated 1911 its heavy so they can pistol whip subordinates with authority and its not like they'll ever get the chance to blast someone with it
imo p320 looks pretty cool and given the other choices i'm glad it was the sig that was the winner and not the other fugly guns in pic related
not sure what your definition of a "cooler" gun is maybe you're just a metal frame kinda guy i guess
>>33747051
holy crap didn't expect to see a Detonics in military trials
>>33746925
How can it be simpler than a Glock?
>>33746994
form follows function
>>33747214
It's not. They're just delusional
They were embarrassed by the direction of the Die Hard franchise
>>33747051
That P-09 looks super nice
>>33746895
mii dick intemidated the us army
>>33747214
Do you have to dry fire an XD to disassemble it? If not, I can see that as an advantage. I mean, it's not a problem for normal people but a lot of people in the army aren't normal.
>>33746903
>Glocks
SIGs are better, though.
>>33747051
>>33747147
>detonics
how have I never heard of these
>>33746895
Given that the Sig has frame swapping for calibers and recent military pitches for a new ammo adoption, I would bet they are trying to do a few year rollout with a chance for caliber swap. Also Sig likely threw a shit load of additional training this and that in with it. It'll be a long time before every Beretta is gone though.
>>33747051
>>33747147
Detonics submissions is really questionable since no commercial models of it exist and their website hasn't updated in forever
They're a pretty sketchy company that made some cool things in the past, but keep going in and out of bankruptcy while slightly changing their names each time
>>33746895
too heavy, limited modularity.
>>33746895
They were largely worn to shit.
>>33746903
It's below 1kg, it's not heavy.
>>33747051
This makes me want a P09
>>33746895
Cuz future and video games need new guns
