It's not like a long con or anything. It's literally just 2-3 times what a tool of that build quality should cost. And apparently most of their target demographic doesn't know any better or care so that's why they can sell it for the price of a superior quality tool without actually producing a tool of that quality. It's just your standard name brand price gouging seen in every industry.

I'm not arguing it's not overpriced for the metal it is. I'm saying that if people pay that regularly, which they do, then there's no reason to not charge that much.

People trust magpul to put out quality stuff, and it is quality. Even if it's overpriced.

How about this. You go ahead and send me that hypothetical $75 you were going to spend on a MAGPUL cast wrench and I'll send you a proper forged wrench (that will outperform that harbor-freight tier piece of shit in every way) with MAGPUL stenciled on the side and pocket the extra $40.

You're right, that's how the market works. Develop your brand, and then use that leverage to jack up your profit margin with no benefit to the consumer.

See, it doesn't need to be forged at all. I'm sure cast WOULD get the job done for 99% of people that are in the market to buy a wrench.

The source of my angst is the outrageous price point. That Ncstar wrench that was posted farther up was $17 and probably every bit as good as the magpul. I just saw someone recommend it and thought I'd be a good samaritan by trying to explain why buying that is just wasting money when there are so many other options out there. MANY OF WHICH are higher quality (forged) for less than HALF the price. Idk about you, but I don't take kindly to being fleeced like that.

haha now see, when it comes to actual gun parts I have no sense of scale. That was all just coming from my perspective as a guy who works in a tool shop and knows about tools.

As far as I'm concerned there's some magic shit in gun parts that makes a $150 rear sight shoot truer than a $30 rear sight. Unless the machining is really that much higher quality, I just assume that $120 going into gun accuracy/durability magic. Better engineering maybe? Idk.

Well I mean I googled it, and found one almost immediately(http://karrisguns.com/kg-ar15-complete-pistol-lower-Blade.aspx), but generally tripfaggots use tripcodes because they're a helpful, knowledgeable resource that the community can go to to ask for help with such things as purchasing advice on items that they could reasonably expect a tripfaggot to have some experience with, or possibly know someone who has experience, or maybe have seen a blog post by someone who has experience.

It still matters. Three tine flash hiders are designed with an open port at 12:00 and no open port at 6:00 to avoid kicking up dirt when shooting prone.

I mean, it's all pedantic autism on the internet, my claim included. Does it really matter with a flash hider? No. Maybe the guy didn't have shims, maybe he doesn't care at all, maybe he never takes the suppressor off. But it's designed to be installed a certain way, so why not install it the correct way?

Yeah I did, but I flipped it back again because the lock lobe was getting hit by brass and also it got coughed on by suppressor farts. It got sooty pretty quick and I didn't want that shit all up in the lock guts.

I moved the locks all back over to the left side. Which kinda sucks if you use a sling, but that's the tradeoff.

Hey, /k/ I want to buy a gun. I am pretty new to guns. I shot some at camp when I was a kid, but I never got into it. I was thinking about an m-15. Is this a good choice for a beginner gun, or should I get a pistol or a bolt action for my first gun?
>>

That's a great choice for a first machine gun, though I would also recommend a bolt action .22 as a first gun as it lets you slow down, learn and calmly enjoy shooting.

77/22s are pretty nice but I feel like they're too expensive for what they are. I think CZ has better magazines, equivalent quality and superior accuracy at a much lower price.

I like it a lot considering the price. The trigger and smoothness of the action in particular. Mark II mag catch is shite tho.

>>33743428

Oh I forgot about the Ruger American! Yeah I think those are swell for the price. The trigger was not as bad as a 10/22 and the stock didn't feel as flimsy as I thought. Would recommend, yep.

AR15 always AR15, i wanted a AR and glock 17 but got a 10/22 and SR22 first. i got bored for them almost instantly after shooting, got a 17 and then the AR little latter. i gave the sr22 to my dad and haven't seen it in years, 10/22s rooting in a bag in a closet somewhere

if you dont want to spend the money on .223/5.56 just get conversion kit, AR15s are not that scary they're all bark and no bight
