My current HD/ SHTF AR has the classic setuplike that. The only modern tacticool stuff on it is a tiny piece of rail for my TLR1 and a Magpul grip instead of the A2.

Honestly slick upper receiver side, flat top, fenced lower receiver would be the perfect ar-15 setup. Probably sliding stock as well, i'm not 100% sure about the handguard though.
