A mount doesn't count.
Remember fluffy? He bought a mount once too and look where he ended up.
But an optic. Or forever be a poorfag. Your choice.
>>33735866
Every time I think about buying optics I realize I can either get a piece of garbage or spend hundreds so I end up just buying ammo.
>>33735866
Yeah but a mount is all of fluffers McDonald's budget for like a year. My AR15 isn't my main nor most expensive hobby. I sure as hell am not gonna restart to a airsoft optic.
Don't sweat, I'll pick one up soon

anon from the other night
>told my brother I owned an AR
>TRIGGERED
>he has 3 nephews I love being around and personally protect just in the random chance case
I want to make him understand that he must become a gun owner and undertake the responsibility. That he must take extra precautions but has the most precious of things to lose by being complacent. I am carrying every time they visit and each moment I am letting them piggy back and wrestle me.
Yet he refuses to entertain the idea of owning a firearm.
>It is more likely to shoot someone with a gun then without.
>My kids might find them!
I desperately want to take them on a range trip and school the safety rules into them and get them accustomed but their father and my brother is again't the 2nd A and gun ownership in general.
>>33735909
Having a good time at the range is the single best way to make someone more friendly towards firearms.
Not being a sperg about it is vital.
>>33735882
You could always just buy my aimpoint
>>33735909
Focus on making your own kids. Who cares if your libshit brother wants his boys raped and murdered, more boi cunni for me.

>>33736118
Interesting take on the situation, and I think I have to agree, he's really playing more of a follower as of late but I suppose that comes with the territory when you've got new players on the field like this.
We're gonna go to commercial break now but stick around cause when we come back we're gonna get an inside look with the real new kid on the block, he's already made a decent showing with his Larue 13.2, so it should be good
you've gone shooting this weekend, right arg?

Its just one piece right?
I think they are pretty sexy but it seems they don't really have much for midlengths
Any suggested improvements for my poorfag-15?
I can't decide if I like the FSP or not. Id like a diferent handguard, but I haven't decided on if I want to free float or just keeping the FSP and doing a different handguard.
I dont really want or need the weight of a quad rail so there isn't really many options out there for me.
Also Im upgrading my shitty optic to a Holosun. Good buy?

used an angle grinder to remove the part with the spring in it. cut it on both sides, pried it off with a flat head screwdriver.

>>33739220
well u dont cut the nut completely off, youre just cutting the part on the outside with the spring in it. that goes over the actual barrel nut. were just removing that so we can get the channel locks or a wrench on the actual nut.
once its cut off it will look like in link related, scroll down about halfway and the pics start

My wrench isn't slipping, so cutting the delta ring off wouldn't help me much.
>>33739341
you cut the ring off so you can use pic related to grip the barrel nut and loosen it. you ruin the barrel nut doing it this way but like i was saying before, most rails come with their own barrel nut so you dont need it anymore

Are the under-$50 carry handles you can find online usable as iron sights?
Do they mount solidly, do they hold zero, is the aperture the same size/height, do the knobs work as on a "real" carry handle?
Can you do the "improved battle zero" where you adjust the screw to let you click further down from the 3/6 mark to get a 200m zero.
Same question applies also to other cheap "A2" style sights, whether part of a handle or not.

Hi, I just picked up a Colt AR15A4 and I'd like a rail system. What are my options? Thus far, I only see a few ''drop-in'' options, the KAC A5 RAS and MagPul. Should I just jump straight to the Geissele?

I'd go KAC RAS if you don't feel like dismantling the entire upper. Of all the free float options, Geissele is by far the best balance of secure and easy to install. Also the best lookinh

It's a PTAC isn't it

Up. At the muzzle, your point of impact is 2" below point of aim. At 100yds in this case, point of aim is point of impact, your zero. So closer, you aim above.

GET A BEV BLOCK AND MAGPUL WRENCH YOU FAGGOT
They are worthy investments. Seriously.
Clamshells but the strain on your upper. The thin, aluminum block that can't be out of spec or you're fucked.
The BEV block (and Geissele reaction rods) put the strain on the barrel extensions, which can handle the torque beyond what you'll ever need.
I mean, if you torque something so bad you break the BEV / RR or barrel extensions, then you were gonna have bigger issues.

I figure I'll put a low-power variable optic on it, maybe 1-4 or 1-6x. I'm not going to be shooting anything fancy out of it, some .223 and 5.56 factory loads. I don't know if I want to file down my gas block for a free float rail.

But if you want a free float rail (no reason not to) I don't see why you need to file (dremel, really) the gas block instead of simply removing it. It's a simple task

And you're not about to tell me that this is a pro-grade wrench or some shit, because I've seen them in person and that is NOT what a $75 dollar hand tool should look like, quality of worksmanship wise. That's some harbor freight, use it once and pray it works again bullshit right there.
I just can't believe people actually pay over $40 for a tool like that.
