Carried a SOG Flash II for 8 years, then got a Benchmade Griptilian to replace it

Honestly I miss the SOG. The full size Griptilian is just a little too big to fit in my back pocket with my wallet comfortably like the SOG did. Blade and action are great though. Also the clip in the Griptilian scratched the leather on my car seat, the SOG clip never did.

Kind bummed I spent twice what the SOG cost just because I wanted something "nicer", but really I'm not any better off.

This Camillus Seize I picked up at Walmart for $10 about a few months ago.

It cuts boxes, hasn't dulled on me yet, folds out nicely, and sits comfortably and tightly against my pocket, but loose enough to snag it out without too much force.

Works for me for the time being as a poorfag.

I think it's one of those things where you either love it or you don't, honestly. My first knife as a kid was a Buck 110 and my first knife as an adult was a Kershaw Leek. I like a good lockback (Spyderco Pacific Salt is my favorite liner lock) and I love a good liner lock (Kizlyar Supreme Biker X is my favorite knife of all time, I'd say). I'm really interested in trying out the new Spyderco Caribbean. I know I like H1, but I'm really interested in seeing how a compression lock handles.

“Brass knuckles” (truly called “metal knuckles” in California law – see the new Penal Code section 12020 21810) are illegal.

Stated in Penal Code 17235 and Penal Code 21510, California has strict laws regulating the sale and possession of switchblades.

Love to know where your imaginary gangbangers do their shopping in California.

I would have thought a shitty 9mm compact and some 3 inch folder off amazon would be more gangbanger style. You know crappy small folders, Taurus etc

Are you one of those people that believe stricter gun laws will reduce crime?
>>
>>33733298
>>33733182

In close-quarters fighting there is no more deadly weapon than the knife. An
entirely unarmed man has no certain defense against it, and, further, merely the
sudden flashing of a knife is frequently enough to strike fear into your opponent,
causing him to lose confidence and surrender.
In choosing a knife there are two important factors to bear in mind: balance and
keenness. The hilt should fit easily in your hand, and the blade should not be so
heavy that it tends to drag the hilt from your fingers in a loose grip. It is essential
that the blade have a sharp stabbing point and good cutting edges, because an artery
torn through (as against a clean cut) tends to contract and stop the bleeding. If a
main artery is cleanly severed, the wounded man will quickly lose consciousness and
die.
The Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife (shown) developed by the author and a
colleague, is highly recommended as possessing the requisite qualities. This knife
and similar types have found wide favor among experts.
There are many positions in which the knife can be carried. Selection of this position
depends upon individual preference based on length of arm, thickness of body, etc.
The following considerations, however, should always be borne in mind. A quick
draw (an essential in knife fighting) can not be accomplished unless the sheath is
firmly secured to the clothing or equipment. More over, speed on the draw can be
accomplished only by constant daily practice. The author favors a concealed
position, using the left hand, for in close-quarters fighting, the element of surprise is
the chief ingredient of success.

>Are you one of those people that believe stricter gun laws will reduce crime?

Nope.

I love guns. I love all kinds of weapons. I'm not so fond of killing but I've killed most things at one point or other, people, horses, dogs, snakes, rabbits, deer, sheep, cattle, birds etc using all sorts of things that were at hand.

>implying gangbangers follow the law
Do you think increasing regulation actually does jack shit? In the Fresno area, brass knuckles are popular among thugs as a status symbol. Of course they don't buy them locally. Cheap stiletto-style switchblades are also a status symbol among the local Chicano gangs for whatever reason. They appear quite frequently in Chicano rap music produced by local gangbangers (just like the "Glock 40" and Draco are popular with black gangbangers elsewhere). Common firearms are stolen handguns of various makes and models, Hi-Points, little "ring of fire" Saturday night specials, and shotguns (often cut down). Successful drug dealers like to purchase "assault weapons" (most often Tapco'd SKSs) and higher-end handguns from out of state (often Glocks given the widespread availability of large capacity magazines, which are another status symbol). Felons who want to body someone will often buy black powder revolvers from sporting goods stores since they're not regulated and generally easier to acquire than anything I mentioned above, especially when they have a parole officer on their ass.

You think maybe these are violent people?

Why do you think they choose these things?

Are you a violent person?

When did you last stab or shoot someone?

So gangbangers in california are carrying .44 calibre Belly Gun A.K.A. Avenging Angels with 140 grains of soft lead flamethrower .454 joy. I'll be darned.

>How do you like that M-Tech Fair-bairn dagger?

The V42 you mean?

Its interesting to hold and the original is undoubtedly a great design, it is a repro and really a piece of shit. It was nice to handle because a real V42 is thousands and they are brittle with age. The blade is a perfect dimension, the pommel skull crusher is great, I love the thumb grip as a ricasso. Its a great design but a cheapish repro is a cheapish repro. It's a pity that a higher quality one is not available. I was going to send it to a knifemaker to have a quality one made but fucked off the project. Its a boker which is the best repro you can get of it. For the price its as close as you are going to get if you want to see how one handles.

It handles like a fighting knife should like an epee

Make sure you're ok with the RAT1 size for EDC, some people find it too big and you might want to go for the RAT2.

I was actually thinking it was a bit small, at least in blade size.

Now I see the difference, the handle is kinda big, but since it's quite thin I think it's okay for a deep carry.

I'm thinking of buying a Spyderco Delica 4 tomorrow from my local knife shop, I already have a Griptillian Benchmade and it's only about 4-5 months old. It's a great knife, but I originally wanted a Spyderco but they didn't have any. I could have gotten a Paratrooper Spyderco but I've heard they're not as good as the Delica 4's. Should I just get a Paratrooper? Delica 4's are hard to find for some reason unless you order them online.

So why is the Delica 4 get such high ratings as the best Spyderco knife? I hear a lot of talk about it? How does it compare to the Paramilitary?
>>
>>33745180
Its a great knife what you're gonna get with it is its lighter has a thinner profile so ease in pocket carry
With the Para 2 you get a better steal (VG 10 vs. S30vn) and better maker (USA made vs Japan made) I mean they're both great but for me the longer blade better lock (the delica has a back lock with boyde detention that's alright) but the Para 2 is the best spydie

I'd say Spyderco and Benchmade are meme as fuck, but I won't deny they are good quality knives. Spyderco especially has pretty high rated/quality knives, at least according to peoples opinions of them on this board, and the internet in general. You'd probably be called a hipster if you didn't use/own a Spyderco or Benchmade.

I carry this. She's a nice piece. I had some issues with the edge. Got a couple small nicks on the edge, but they didn't affect the performance. After some honing, they've gone away and haven't returned.

She's sharp as can be, and keeps the edge for quite a while. The action could be a little smoother. Considering I bought this thing for $34 on amazon and it does literally anything I could ever need it to do, I'd say it's a 8-9/10.

>>

That is a pietta 1860 Army Sheriff Snubnose 44 aka bellygun aka avenging angel, they have another version with a different grip called the thunderer

The originals were the CCW weapons of the old west and had a reputation for lethality at short ranges, including in one account also setting the victim on fire. People like professional gamblers and in one care a religiously inspired Mormon assassin used them his preference being based on the fact that if in a close environment if the victim did not die immediately they would probably be blinded anyway. You can get conversion cylinders for them in 45 Colt (Long Colt) they fire 140 grain .452/.454 lead ball or things like .45 190 grain buffalo bullets

Some people get them made up at gunsmiths from full 1860s. Its a nasty dirty weapon particularly as if the victim is facing the weapon in the same room it will probably also blind them. The brass knuckle of the old west firearms. It is where all snubnose revolvers originated from. It is pretty expensive for what it is though, might be cheaper to get one made.

Involved in numerous gunfights for various reasons (some controversial today), he once told a crowd; "I never killed anyone who didn't need killing.". If you were skinning or preparing game you might need some additional tools for an easy life depending on what is you re doing.

I hate survivalist camping frankly but if you are going to get into it I recommend you get a bahco laplander folding saw with that MOD knife if you want an easier time (the saw weights nothing) and possibly a good solid wood handled hatchet if you can take the weight or have someone else sharing the load.

I agree with the first part of what you said regarding the physical benefits of the Delica 4, but I am confused by the second bit. Are you saying that the Para 2 has better steel than the Delcia 4? I don't believe S30V is any better than VG10 and frankly I don't understand why Japan made is any worse than US (I think I actually prefer Japan made blades desu). Between the Para 2 and the Delica 4 I think the biggest difference is the size, weight, and also the comfort of the blade in your hand. The Delica 4 is slightly smaller and lighter but the Para 2 allows you to grab it a bit more aggressively (close to the blade) and overall I think it fits better in the hand.
>>
>>33745852
S30vn is a better steel you can find info on it on blade forums but s30vn is better
